Ugh call/check-raise/check/bet-fold

line of champions

Posted Mon Apr 09, 2007 10:50 pm GMT by exit music
BTW you are almost certainly beat, the only hand he bet-calls with is a FD, he'd prob bet-reraise with a set and he doesn't have a king obv. and he wouldn't re-rai with anything else on the river

Clearly a flush

edit: he could be bluffing

I see KQ being played like this... but I still doubt it...

What hand would he be raising with preflop, and calling your reraise?

Could he have Aces here and trying to steal the pot on the River after kingetje showed weakness on the turn?
AK is a possibility too... The only way I see him having a flush is A Spade Q Spade or A Spade J Spade

I think he is trying, to pick up the pot... but you have to have the cojones to pay the All-In...

It’s hard to play any hand out of position and I don’t know if I would have played it any better however; you gave him a free look at the river card. You may have done this for two reasons, keep him in the hand or check-raise the turn, If it was to keep him in the hand then you showed no consideration for the potential flush that you folded to. Your check-raise on the flop worked against you if you intended to do it again on the turn; If villain had not made his hand he suspected you would come over the top so he checked. The potential flush card on the river and your bet did not bother him, why, because he made the nut flush on the river or because of your play confused him so much he convinced himself you were bluffing. I think you were beat.

I don't really mind the smooth call up front. No clue why you checked that turn, but good fold on the river. 90+% of the time you are crushed.

indeed i checked the turn planning to check-raise... didnt work out.

But you already check-raised the flop. The whole point of that was to build the pot so you could get a big bet in on the turn... VERY few players, especially with his range of hands, are going to bet when checked to on that turn. Sorry mate, but I really hate checking the turn after check-raising the flop.
