its probably bad practive for my poker game but i have no cash in my account so i'm playing the ps freerolls with 10000 people where 27 advance to another tournament with a real prize. anyways i realize i'm playing with terrible players but it's still satisfying to beat out 10000 players.

Out lasting 10K people is a good job.
And playing a MTT is always good for you, even when it is against bad players.
Well done

ya your exactly right.
i was getting overconfident but then...
i played a 200$ guranteed with 10 players.
$10 buy in, $10 re-buy and $20 add on =40$
top 3 get paid, i busted out in 4th.
shortstacked, all in with QK vs his JJ;
flop 8 K Q 10 A
the rebuy and the add were a waste of $$$$

$155
-$40 10buy in,10 rebuy, 20 add on
-$10 cash game
-$5 buy in
-$5 buy in
-------------
$95
+$65 1st place finish (24 players)
------------
$160 bankroll

You turned $25 into $100 in a week? Prey tell how.
Posted Tue Apr 24, 2007 1:48 am GMT by Yozman
it wasn't by conventional bankroll methods, first i played 0.10-0.25, then doubled to $50, then stepped up to 50 max, got up to 100 then 100max got up to 200 then played 1-2 got up to 400 and won that big pot where i had KK, see the "action hand" thread

Wow, so that call was almost for your entire BR?
You Sir, is sick
nice run!

I think its pretty interesting, that the "play-like-there-is-no-tomorrow"-style is often so succesful.
Friend of mine started with 50$ and made 1600$ in 2 weeks. He lost everything in 1 hand, when his flopped straight was beat by a boat...
As MrDarling said before, at a certain level, when u manage to boost your BR, u have to take care of it, and really manage it well... or itīll be gone faster than u can say "badbe..."

if i cash in the million that would b some phenominal $0 to ?? bankroll
Posted Tue Apr 24, 2007 11:09 am GMT by MrDarling
As you can see from your friends story, its actually not successful. Sure going from $50 to $1600 in 2 weeks is amazing, but sooner or later variance catch up with you and you loose it all in one session.
don't forget, most people who play by this rule are the fish that keep feeding our BR.

What I meant is: you can have incredible results, but have to know when to stop...
Mike Caro once wrote that you shouldnt treat your BR like a Tourney Buy-In. But to give it a quick boost?? Why not!
I mean take 50$ and sit down at 2 NL25... if you reach 100... sit down at 2 NL50 etc...
You should know when to stop though

what happens with this is we see a biased report on it... you have any idea how many times people lose right off the bat or say cash 1$ then lose it within 5min at a .01/.02 table...
we just never hear those stories...
good thing too cause they'd be boring as hell...
