Online MTTs, semi-short.

I've been having a situation come up lately late in a large MTT. I have a semi-short stack, around 6-10xBB. An average stack is around 15-20x BB.

At this stage I feel like you can no longer steal, without moving all in. So what is a good moving in range and good reraising/calling range for a loose raiser? tight raiser?

I generally steal until I run a hand like QJ or K9 into a dominating hand, and get knocked out. With an M of 5 or less, I'm not totally sure what my range should be in these situations. It seems like the risk outweighs folding these hands - but I may have a range that is too big.

Current pushing range:

Early position - AA-22, AK-AT, KQ-KJ
Middle position - AA-22, AK-A8, KQ-KT, QJ
Late position - AA-22, AK-A5, KQ-K8, QJ-Q9, JT-J9, T9-T8
SB - AA-22, AK-A2, KQ-K6, QJ-Q8, JT-J8, T-7, 9-7, 87

Calling/reraising range:

Early position - AA-77, AK-AQ
Middle position - AA-77, AK-AQ
Late position - AA-44, AK-AJ
SB - AA-22, AK-A9
BB - AA-22, AK-A9

Totally depends on people in the pot, position, opponents, and your chip stack much more so than your actual hand. You shouldn't be pushing hands like T8 in LP if people have called the blinds, etc.

My take on stealing is you should be doing it long before you get short. In fact it is one of the best tools to keep from getting short if done well.

When I steal it is often from mid to late position with a hand that is not likely to be dominated ie. suited connectors and small pairs. The key is to choose a hand that you don't mind seeing a flop with. K9's only real hope is a nondominated top pair. 78s gives pair plus straight plus flush draws and is not likely to be dominated by a hand willing to call a raise.

It is also important to make sure it is worth a steal. If blinds are 10/20 is it really worth the risk?

And the most important thing is if you are called to Continuation bet when you miss. You would be surprised to see how many people will call a raise preflop and fold to a bet when an A or K hits on the flop.

also when u get that short 6-10 BB u do not want to resteal
since if someone raises and u push they will have to call u with any 2
thats why i will reraise all in only if i want to flip
and i'd rather push 74s then call or re-steal push so short with AQ

I agree and I do this, but it doesn't mean you won't find yourself short some of the time. The situation usually happens for me like this:

In a recent $10 rebuy tourney on FT I got down to the final 60 with 65k, 8th in chips. I got AA in the SB and got it all in against a guy holding 88, with half as many chips. 8 hits on the flop and I am knocked down to 30k. I attempt two steals, and am reraised both times - during the course of two rounds. With the blinds at 1000-2000 with an ante, the M=5k. I have about 20k chips and pick up K9 against two tight, average stacked players in the blinds (I'm on the cutoff). I move all-in. The button moves all-in with AK, and I'm knocked out in 49th.

I'm mainly just curious if people tend to fold hands like KT, K9, K8, QJ, QT, Q9 in these situations. Or if moving in with any "above average" hand is correct.
