I'll be there, as will Roger Waters. Anyone else?

I'll keep it in mind, is Supa going to be 21 by that date?

There is now a better than normal chance I will be there at some point during those dates, likely staying at IP.

I'll be in Vegas from June 20-24. I'm planning on playing the noon $340 tournament at Wynn on June 21 (I've played this twice, the first time getting sucked out on just before the money after making the final table with a slight chip lead, the second time getting sucked out early on when I got all in with KK against QQ and the guy hits a flush). I find this to be a good tourny with a decent blind structure that usually rewards good play and allows for patience.
Other than that you can probably find me in the Bellagio poker room every night at either the 8-16 or 15-30 limit tables (I haven't played 15-30 yet, but I'm giving it serious consideration for this trip). I usually hit the poker room between 8pm and 10pm (depending on what DW and I have planned for entertainment earlier on) and stay until the wee hours of the morning. I never worry about sleep - I can do that when I get back home .

I played about 20 hours of 15/30 my last trip, it wasnt tough, but you can definately make more money at 8/16. I would likely sit at 30/60 next time before playing 15/30 again. It was the same faces and relatively poor players but the with the small number of bets that you can squeeze out, might as well double your money.
8/16 was much looser and full of idiots. That was easy money.

Interesting comments, Dave. As I noted in my comments on my last Vegas trip, I made money every time I sat down at the 8-16 tables. I'd have to agree with your assessment of the competition.
One reason I'm considering moving up is the lack of 8-16 tables. The last time I was there they only had one 8-16 table open most of the time and as it got later into the evening it got difficult to keep it full. The 15-30, however, seemed to be more popular.

When were you out? If it was midweek or off season, you are likely right. But during peak times, they almost always have 1-2 8/16. It is best when there is a long list on 4/8, then you get people saying "what the heck, give my 8/16".
I talked to a regular at my local casino (goes by Scoobie to any Canterbury players) who I saw at the Bellagio. He is a 8/16 player and was playing 30/60, so I asked why he was playing a bigger game. He was the one who told me it was all the same average skilled locals as the 15/30 game, so this time out I really followed who was playing what. He was 100% correct.
There is always an 8/16 at Wynn going too.

I played at Bellagio Jan. 21-23 (Sunday-Tuesday) my last trip out.Made around $1300 for the three nights. I always stay at Bellagio because they give me the best deal and I like their poker room.
Don't know what it'll be like in June, what with the WSOP in full swing and all, but I hope it's not so busy that I can't get a seat.

If I had quit while I was at the max, I would have made over $1200/day there on my last 3 trips. As it is, I still did OK.
What deal do you get at Bellagio? Isnt the comp rate still about $200/night?
My friend had the slot people comp his stay last time. 3 nights free room, food and booze. We had over $700 in food billed to the room taken care off. NICE!

My wife likes the slots and I play some BJ and Pai Gow poker, so we usually have some meals and one or two nights comped. We get the casino rate for the rest of the nights. For example, the upcoming trip has us in a room at $149/night for weeknights and $199 for Friday/Saturday. Upon checkout we'll have some of our bill undoubtedly taken care of.
We often get offers from the MGM properties. For example, the Mirage has offered us 3 nights comped during the week or $89/night on weekends during the time we will be in Vegas. I haven't actually checked to see if the exact dates we will be there are available. It's tempting to take them up on that, but we like staying at Bellagio and since my poker will largely be there I find it much more convenient.

It's starting to look like I will probably arrive in Vegas on Monday June 18th and I'll probably be there for the weekdays while it's cheap, unless I end up winning a lot and decide to stay for the weekend. I'll keep updates in my blog.

I booked my room in Vegas for June 18 - June 21.
So all will be there that week besides me and suited?

June 14th - July 18th for me.

As I mentioned earlier, I'm there June 20-24. I'll be spending my evenings in the Bellagio poker room, playing either 8-16 or 15-30 FLHE. I'll also be trying my luck at the Wynn noon tournament on June 21.

Is this a typo or are you really there for a month? If not a typo, you playing in the WSOP main event (since your stay coincides with the main event)?
Posted Wed Jun 13, 2007 12:36 pm GMT by Adam Marshall
Ya, I'm really there for a month. I'll probably play a few satellites for the main event, but I'm not definitely playing. I lost hope in the main event last year.
