Not really as bad of a play as his was. Lots of things you could have done here but the way you played it was good I feel.

No one likes "being had" and betting into a big hand where the monster shows no aggression. What he's basically saying is, "Why didn't you tell me you had a hand so I could fold?"

It worked out, although your play was pretty bad. You hadn't shown any aggression at all, so when you flop a monster (and this is a monster) and play it that passively, you're losing a lot of value. In this case, he was betting with air, so it isn't as obvious since you probably aren't getting chips from him any other way.

For slow playing... played with a little fire with flush draw and so many in the pot on the flop. Calling the 150 into 200... if we're going to trap with 4 to act behind us yet was good.

The fugly part is the river. Especially after we check called both the flop and turn here. My opinion is that trapping on the river is a horrible horrible practice, and after 2 c/c we let him check through already suspecting we were slow playing a hand. I just feel you should always always always fire at the river unless we feel we're beat. Last chance to build the pot.

His criticism: not much he can do but talk bs here. He fired at the pot to steal it twice, and by the river he knew he was behind. Of course he's not going to be happy about it. Had we reraised the flop, he'd have folded and saved his 350 turn bet (what sean was saying).

Its called tilting

AQs from the big blind is hand that can be raised against limpers, Top pair and the nut flush draw is a huge hand on the flop that can be raised, don’t let tilting affect your play, giving free cards is only helping the week catch up.

The only reason I check on that flop is to do so with the intention of check-raising. You have a "big pot" type of hand, so you want to start getting money in.

On this particular instance, you might have made the maximum by letting him bluff, but in general, I do not like the play. It potentially loses a LOT of value against villain's range of hands, and gives him all the control of the betting.

Villain has no reason to criticize your play, however. He is lucky he didn't lose more chips. I always think it's funny when people get mad their bluffs don't work, as if they are entitled to pots just by sheer bravado.

You must raise on the turn here. GJ slowplaying 2 bets out of him, now it's time to get PAID - I raise to 800~ if I am in that exact scenario. I do like creative plays like this, but you have to know when it's time to raise.

I didnt really slowplay on purpose. Not the traditional "slowplay"

It was the second level in the tourney, about 10 Hands played. I was involved in 4 pots already (raising 2 of them with Strong Hands and calling 2 with low PP) and I dont like playing that aggressive throughout the first levels... I saw the opportunity to build a tight image by showing down a strong hand played passivly. And like I said, the loss before with AQ also had his part in this hand.

In this hand i won the maximum possible, but i know of course that in general its a loss of value.

My thoughts why i dont think that the play is that bad (apart from the preflopcheck):

I am oop and there are 3 more players. 1st position limper, button calls, sb could have anything...

so lets say somebody picks up a real hand and reraises, if i bet 150 on the flop, say he bets 450. I have to call here (or even push). this is building a pot of 1100 and I have then 1000 left.

Turn comes a J and there i am with my tpgk, i can only push here, since he will push and i have to call.

See my point?

That was the only part I didn't mind.

Likewise. Very reasonable check IMO.
