I’d had about 5 PP in the last 25 hands after hitting nothing on the flop I folded to over-card bets. Then this hand came up. My thinking was not to scare him away but to get all-in on the river, but as you can see it turned to sh_t.
How would have you played It, don’t pick on me about my stack I know.

I think you played it fine given your stack size.

Postflop I agree, but preflop I actually think the stacksize makes this a pretty standard fold. Set-fishing with 40BBs vs. a 5x raise is thin, BB or not.

I misread the blinds. I agree with Tame. Small pairs are not good to play against a raiser with your stack, as you do not have very good implied odds.

I agree, I should have re-loaded, I have no excuses that I could bluff with.

seconded what tame/DC said ... if you only want to play with $10 at a table play 10NL, you don't have to play with $25 all the time, but you should probably have at least $20
