What was this guy thinking? Isnt he a highly respected and successful online tourney pro?

WPT hands from last night:

1) John Juanda goes all in on the button with the small stack. He looks down and sees AQ in the small blind and folds.

2) 4 handed in position with AK raises about 1/5 of his stack ($300K?). Aggressive player raises to $700K, they both started they hand with about $1.5 million. He folds! The other player had A10.

3) 66 w/ one spade, he raises to $250k and gets called by both blinds 4 handed. Boarded check to river and all spades AK932 or something-2 undercards to his 6. The SM same aggressive player bets $200k, he folds getting over 3:1 odds with a board flush. The 200K was only about 10-15% of his stack. I believe this was 4 handed as well.

The AK fold vs John Lam..
What they didn't show was that I had been all in twice against him preflop under similar circumstances. Just as they were interviewing John Juanda after his bust out I had raised pre with AK, John Lam reraised and I pushed with the AK. Lam folded, you could hear the cheers in the background but they didnt show the hand. Same circumstance a few hands later, I raised, lam reraised, I pushed with AK again, he folded. The last time, which they aired, Lam did something different in his actions and demeanor. I had played with him for 2 full days and watched him pretty closely and what he did threw me. I knew I had to either go all in or fold but how he played the hand struck me a bit. I wasn't trying to hang on to make another spot up, I just misread the situation. I've said for months that I either made the best or the worst fold of my life against Lam and as it turned out, it was the wrong read.
As for the AQ vs Juanda, I knew before I folded it, as I folded it and after I folded it that I had made a mistake. I was more worried about the aggressive big stack behind me than Juanda's hand.
The other AK vs Marc where I folded after the flop was pretty easy to play the way I did. I raised under the gun, he re-raised in second position. Knowing he had AJ now obviously it's easy to see a push there, but just as obvious, when you are in that situation and don't have the luxury of knowing his hole cards, a second position reraise at the full table has to be respected. I flat called, completely missed the flop and he bet half his stack. He played the hand well, with position and took away my check raise with the size of his bet. I don't have any issue with this hand. I don't feel you push AK all in everytime you have it preflop.
Anyways, the biggest learning experience at a WPT final table is that the blinds are super aggressive and the time limits are shortened meaning you have to gamble more. Live and learn.
Oh, the KK hand they made fun of, big deal,,, It was moments after my initial all in on the very first hand of the final table and I'd be lying to say that going all in on the first hand freaked me out a bit. It took me a good 20 minutes or so to calm the adrenaline down a bit. That KK hand I over re-raised and knew it the second I did it.
Anyways,,, oh well.. admittedly it wasn't my best performance and Vince V P certainly milked it.

That is what confused me so much, with the blinds and ante so high and stepping up so fast, you dont have the luxury of being patient at a WPT final table. IT WILL BE OVER IN 4-6 hours, that means you get about 100-125 hands. I just dont see EVER laying down AK preflop under those circumstances.

I dont argue that single hands can be tainted with a TV production, but they made him look VERY bad. Also, I was flipping around too (South Park, MN Twins, Mythbusters), so I saw even less of the full picture. I missed the KK hand and the 1st AK hand they kept talking about.

I still think the ripping is meritted, I dont buy his explanations.

Funny he doesnt mention the 66 hand, I dont mind laying down AK preflop (esp if you dont have much invested), but the 66 hand he had full info, the river was dealt, the other player had folded and he was the last to act.
