ok... i need help here for stars vip...
so my understanding is you need 1500 FPP to get silverstar... right?...
then once you do so you're FPP are increased by 50%..
so it's not easier to keep your current status?
i ask because I've set a new goal for myself... SILVERSTAR member...
I play $50NL and I figure the FPP/hand ratio to be 3.575456 hands/point....
so at 15hrs/week, counting my MT ratio, I play 118.58 hands/hr... this means I'll be playing roughly 64 hrs/month...
thats 7589 hands/month or 2122 FPP/month and once I get my silverstar status with the 50% bonus it'll be 3183 VPP... that easily maintains my status...
this got me thinking... GOLD status it only 4k points and gives a 100% bonus... so once I clear silver, all I have to do is give it a little push at the end of the month and I can get goldmember where my 2122 FPP turns into 4244 VPP; again maintaining the points I need...
am I missing something here?

No, it is not easier to keep your status.
Whatever PS says is the criterion for getting one VPP is always what you need to get a VPP. The bonus applies only to accumulating FPP, which are the things you use to buy cool stuff.
But even if you make SilverStar one month, you still need to get 1500 VPP to maintain it the next month, not 1000 (which would translate to 1500 FPP.

What diamond said:
VPPs are your base rate...these affect your silverstar, goldstar, etc. status
FPPs are your base rate plus whatever bonus rate you may have...these buy you cool stuff.

In other words, you have to play a lot at 1-2+ NL to really accumulate VPPs enough to reach platinum or higher.
I am almost at gold for this month, but I have no idea if I'll make it. The cool thing is that once you get a level of status it carries over, so that should help encourage you to play enough to keep that status for the next month.
I have no idea how anyone could get supernova below 1-2 NL because you really need to be making 20K+ VPPs per month, and I have no idea how thats possible, without playing at least 1-2.

If I play at the same rate I have for Feb, Mar, April, and May, I will easily make Supernova. All you need is to make 10K a month. It was hard at 2/4 limit, a little easier at 3/6, now at 5/10 I can probably make about 20K FPP a month or so.
