I think it should be said, the odds of making trips or better on the flop with a PP is 7.5/1 so, if I what goes round comes around you shouldn't hit trip again with a PP for 7.5X4 = 30 hands. Don’t you just love this game.

Every event is independent though. His odds of hitting a set don't change - regardless of how many times in a row he hits a set.

Just amend his statement to say that it will take 30 "set-less" POCKET PAIRS (not hands) before he flops another set to normalize this set of data.

Fortunately for kingetje I've been keeping the statistical universe in balance for him by pulling down the 30 set-less PP last month. (But I was able to set things right yesterday with a monster day, up $80 in about 2 hours of $1/2 FL ring. A couple of sets to PP but two monster hands where I had a straight built around a medium or low PP.)
