Well, I didn't win my seat... I'd played a series of satellites sponsored by Boyd Gaming. Basically, they were three different tournaments, all with the same format... $10 buy in for $1000 in chips, with unlimited $10 rebuys in first hour for $1000 in chips each rebuy.
I played all 3 sessions and spent a total of $150, and with no luck. Didn't get past the first hour following the rebuy period.
The funny thing was I was sitting next to the guy who eventually one the whole thing!!!!! His close friend is also one of my friends, who works in the pokerroom. The winner is a poker room dealer at the Orleans, a sister casino to my casino. Maybe, we can get the guy to let me take a picture with his bracelet on... it'll be the closest I get to seeing one that's not sitting behind a plexiglass case or sitting on some pro's arm.

Yeah, only $500.
Hell, I had 4-5 coworkers fly down and play in that tourney. No success but evidently one won a different tourney for $1700 the next night.
...knowing him he'll probably get shitfaced drunk and piss it all away on Blackjack before he gets back though.
