Keeping track of money going into pot ?

Posted Fri Jun 08, 2007 4:10 pm GMT by jagers68
Hi,
I was just wondering if someone could explain to me the easiest way to keep track of money going into the pot, i am confused how you determine if there is a raise pre-flop or there is a raise on flop, turn river, could someone please give me an example or explain to me how you count a raise, is it 2
times more, im so confused, Help.
for example if 5 people call pre flop and 1 raises how many bets are in the pot now? is it 7? or what, or how about if there are 6 callers on the turn and 1 raises and 1 reraises how many bets now?
Thanks for the help

Every raise adds one bet, but if the player has not yet acted they add an additional bet to the pot because they are effectively "calling and then raising."

So if three players call. Then player X raises. There were 3 bets in the pot before he/she acted and now there are 5 bets.

BUT you also have to add in the blinds. So there is an additional 1.5 bets in the pot at the start of the hand.
