I am going to start putting tournament hands in this part of forum occasionally and see on ways I can improve my play throughout or other lines to take. This one is in a $150 F/o on Full Tilt.
Blinds $40/$80
Hero BB with 10 10
Villain ep raises to 240, I am in bb with 5,100 chips, he has 5165.
I flat call from the BB.
Flop comes 4 4 2 .
I check, he leads for $520. (pot bet). I flat call.
Turn K .
I check, he checks.
River 10 .
I lead for $1,100 into about $1,500. He folds.
I think a check riase on flop might be better way to play on flop tbh, but I kinda wanted to keep the pot small and although my hand was strong if I check raise and he pushes I probably fold. Turn , I didnt like the K, but I could have lead for info, when he checks behind I am thinking my hand is good. River is lovely, 10 and it completes flush, I decided to lead for a big bet cos I felt if he hit the flush he will at least call.
Any thoughts on ways to improve are very welcome.

i like the play
i also agree on your thought about the flop but i dont know how hw was playing
only thing i could try and do different is to try to check raise river
but with flush comming there he could be affraid of it and check behind
and that would make u look like Tilly :D
i suppose that could be a valid option if hes a type of player that could try to take it down on river.

Looks fine. Check raising the flop is dangerous if he calls and then bets into you on the turn because there are so many hands that you are not beating. If the turn and river were reversed then great but until that river comes, you have no idea where you are really.
I like the bet size on the river. A small bet would smell of flush if I were him in which case he would fold if he didn't have it and a large bet could tempt AK to call thinking you are stealing.

I like the way you played the hand, there was nothing else you could do here because he probably had two unpaired cards in his hand so he wasn't going to call any sort of bet. Check/raising the flop is a good way to end the hand on the flop most of the time, the problem is that your villain's range of calling the check raise still includes heart flush draws, any 4, any pocket pair and maybe even A2 or K2. If he calls the check/raise and the turn is paint, you've really got a tough situation. You played the hand well and applied pot control.
You could lead the turn, but it accomplishes the same thing as a check/raise on the flop except that your opponent may have paired a king he was c-betting with on the flop.
Obviously that river card is a dream for you, but if you're opponent has QJ here he isn't calling the min bet anyways.
