Well,I'll sum up the last 24 hours before I let you guys in on a plan I kinda have. Yesterday, I decided I wasn't going to play mtts off my own bat, so I played the odd satelite for the million (3 i think)and cashed for the T$215 and thought to myself "I really want to play a big live event " so I looked on satelites on Pokerstars and noticed that tommorow or today rather had a $1,050 ept Barca..So I looked for satelites into it, but none were registering. So I decided to play an mtt or 2 to see if i can earn $800 or so to play it .I made my mind up, I was willing to pay $200 myself. So I entered a $100 F.o and a $30 deep stack. The deep stack i was playing simulataneously with the Fo .I managed to come 7th and make $1,200 so I was able to do it. I almost cashed in the deep stack when I was very tired so i went sleep and let Aelred take over.
Then I wake up 6pm today (sicko I know) and was readying myself for this ept satelite. Well long story short tiredness maybe helped me playQQ to soft? And I got rivered, I got away from it but eh. That lost me 20% of my stack, then I proceded to get KK,KK no action hmm?
AQ I raise, bb called flop A88 , he c/r I called turn J , he raises i put him ( he committed himself on flop , I just wanted him to stick it in on turn), and he had AJ. Nice.
Then I was left with just 700 chips and my AK couldnt defeat JJ , theres a surprise.
So It got me thinking, I really want to play live, but I dont have the funds, to just enter a big EPT event. (costs about $10,000 I think?) So I figure I could try and devote my time till August 28 to get enough money from online I will pay in outright.I got some money, so if I dont cash I can still easily play when I come back.
My main reason for doing this is simple, I feel I am a strong player, but when I keep lose lose losing online, I need to test myself in a big event like an EPT to see if my confidence in my ability is justified. I know poker players overrate how good they are (Every player does this!) so I just need to play it. I am a much better live player then I am online, and its a different game in a sense.
I am going to play with no fear now, not lookin for just 1 huge score, but to try and turn my $800 I got on pokerstars into around $12,500 ? so I can go and play. Every $1k counts now, so I am going to post my results and vents etc in this thread.
I know you guys probably wont think its smart tryin to earn this much just to enter it into 1 tourney. But since I was going to lay off the poker for a while its not like I will be pissed If I dont reach it, (ok i Iwill  ) but eh , I never set proper goals before and this is one I really to make.

Good plan, though I think it will be much easier to qualify to such a big event then to actually make the funds to pay for it.

1st Day been and gone for this quest, and made no progress really. Played maybe 5 tourneys, 2 $10 rebuys ( cashed in both) the daily $50k (cashed) and a $70 nlhe 6 max (busted out KK vs AA sigh), and finally a $100 f/o. (99 vs AK)
Despite 3 cashes in the 5 mtts I played it was the cheaper ones i cashed in and for nothing great, $80, $126 and $80 again i think. So my roll on stars is same as last night really.
I need to do a satelite before I go sleep for sunday million or something cos I am definitely playing at least 1 of the big sunday mtts but I obviously dont want to risk $215 when I dont have loads on my p/s a.c. Anyway , feeling pretty good about my play, I dont think I gave up any chips easy today, I was focused, played good poker and taking any beats that come my well much better then I have been.

I don't know you well enough to comment on whether this is a good idea or not. I also don't know enough about your mentality.
However, i do have one concern about your idea.

I went through a phase of setting myself targets and ended up giving myself excess preasure which i could of done without. Is it a good idea to aim at $12,500 straight away or would it be better to break down your target to sizeable chunks?

Well, I played the Sunday Million , just bought in, I made a good call with AQ and my opponent had Q-10 which put me strong favorite but I lost that one for 20,000 chips then shortly after had AK v KT for all my chips and lost that for another 10,000. But hey rather bust out first 2 hours then on the bubble..so ya know.
$500k on FTP I entered too and came like 90th/3100 for $750 . I played my final hand questionably and ran into a monster, but I think I played well throughout, I played pretty rockish I think and it was working but to win these things you gotta get real lucky and I was losing a fair amount of showdowns, like I'd call a shortie all in with AJ suited orsomething hed have KQ and win or 77 etc. But I still did well overall and cashed.
In the regular mtts I been doing I just not been catching breaks, again I've played solid lately , very solid but its not working cos playing solid relies on the fact u gotta hold up, and that hasnt been happening. Either that or I have been the "action" if you will. E.G. 2 times this week in the 6 handed mtt I play I had K-K and been up against A-A. But eh, cant last forever.
Today, I think I've been playing slightly below par, I had KK vs AA in the 6 handed mtt, the $10 rebuy I never really got any chips to play with and spent alot during rebuy losing countless unfortunate hands, AK vs AQ, AJ vs AT , KK vs 33, the works.
I played a few hours of nl $100 to see if i could bring my roll up and quite quickly dumped off about $120, I stayed though and brought myself back up to even. So, although it's been a torrid week, I am actually in relatively high spirits. The goal is still on to try and make enough for the EPT but eh, If I dont reach it who cares? By then I will be in Nottingham playing live frequently mixed in with online so either way works.
My PS roll is taking a hit the last 3 days not making any cashes really, but it's salvagable. Worst comes to worst, I ll play lower mtts or hit some heads up sngs.
Think that sums up everything of last few days, I'll post update in day or 2.
Yay, Just took down a nice pot with JJ in a cash game. (vs 3-5 diamonds hoohaa)

Even if you don't make it to your $12.5K goal, you should go to the EPT and play in the smaller buy-in events. I'm sure you'd still crush the competition and a final table there would net you some nice cash still =).

No wins or FT's since last time. Just busted out of a 6 handed mtt, we were 5 handed i had QQ in sb , bb had AA. Sigh. The nightly I cashed for $250, 10c8c pushed into AK. Meh. I deposited 800 on titan and its up to 1k but no real progess made lately.
