I was playing this past Friday and this hand was my last of the night.
I was under the gun, I got 2 aces for my hole cards and I decided to go all -in with $7,000 in chips.
everyone else folded and I was heads up with one other player. He calls the $7,000.
The first of three cards on the flop is an Ace giving me my three of a kind. I thought I had the pot at this time, turns out the other player also needed the ace as well, for it made him a straight and he ended up with the pot and it ended my night.
Did I play the hand properly? I feel I had the right cards at the right time so I decided to go all in.

Next time you should try to not put all your chips in the middle with the best hand.

You played the hand fine. What happened was that the cards weren't shuffled properly before the hand was dealt. Did you make sure to shuffle enough times? Because aces are supposed to win pretty much all the time, so if they didn't, I don't know what else it could be besides a bum shuffle. You should've gotten your money back.
