Well, at least the Norwegians.
Yesterday I decided to spend my last night in the UK at "Dust till Dawn" poker room in Nothingham where the Norwegian championship is taking place.
At first the poker played pretty much normal. Though there were much more big bluffs post flop. However in the wee hours of the night all hell broke free.
People started raising, squeezing and making huge Cbets then showing one card (3 or a 2). People calling huge Pf raises (£36 in £1/£2) with J8o. People going AI on a 3 way J high flop with J7s and win against A high.
Then someone from a higher limit table came with over £4k to the table (where the max buyin is £200 - but no one cared, especially not me) After an hour or so, he started pushing every hand. Funny enough, the resto f the table didn't learn and kept limp/folding (even in a straddle pot).
I sat tightly and waited. sadly I let my stack dwindle down to £150ish (had no more cash and couldn't be bothered to go draw somemore, though I knew it will be the right move)
I pick KK UTG and limp. Big stack push again and get insta called from another LAG and I call and in some miracle my hand held (pusher pushed in the dark and caller called seeing only one card K)
Soon after that (the Big stack sadly left the table) there was a 3 way raised flop of AT4 rain bow. SB check; BB lead and PF raiser push £175 in £86 pot. BB think for a long time and decide to call.
PF raiser : "You're ahead"
Caller : "No, I'm pretty sure you are ahead"
turn is a 2 and river is a 4.
PF raiser shows 45s and caller shows 42o.
This was my single to leave. It was 6am with only another 30min of play. I really didn't feel like risking my 250ish BB with no chance of getting it back if they do get lucky.
Damn, if you ever get the chance (and the BR to suffer swings) go look for a bunch of Norwegians to play with.
