I’m little blind in an unraised pot with A5o. Flop comes A66. I bet $2. Big blind raises to $4. Everyone else folds and I call. Garbage on the turn. I check and BB goes in for $10. He was big blind, so he might have a six. He also tried to bluff me earlier and took a big hit, so I figured he wouldn’t try it again. I fold. What would you have done?

I would have folded too. He could have had a 6 like you said or if he had an ace, your 5 kicker wasn't good at all. Did you find out what he had?

no, everyone else folded when he raised me. but he probably had garbage, cause i caught him trying to bluff me later.

I would of reraised him after he doubled my bet, but I would of come back at him for triple the bet (in this case $6). If he just calls he probably has the Ace and is scared, if he raises again, then let it go.
Chances are he just took your bet as a sign of weakness, once you just called he figured he had you on the ropes and a $10 bet would finish you off. Of course he could of had the 6, but why would the 6 suddenly lead out for $10 after he announced it, he should want to price it so you call.

Truth be told, that sounds like an overbet to me... and if he had a reputation for bluffing, I'd have called his ass on that. If he's sitting pretty with a six, the smart play is a slow play. He also raised before the flop and out of position... a play that doesn't strike me as very X6. Only A6 or 66 might call for that, and trust me, he doesn't have 66. . Same goes for AA, since you have one. The odds are about 1 and a 1000 he has the final 2 aces.
A6 is about the only hand that could beat you that he has a fair shot at having.
Then, that monsterous bet on fourth street is just screaming: "Please don't call me... please please please go away."
I think I'd have stuck with my aces, for better or worse, and reraised all in.

You have a really good point there UMCorian about his position. It's funny how once someone puts things in a different perspective you end up second guessing yourself sometimes. Being out of position like he was his pre-flop raise just screams overcards, probably wired. He threw in a lot of cash to make sure you didn't have an ace and he was wrong. Hmmmmm

It really depends on the other players and how I am doing. If I'm up enough and he's been bluffing, I'd probably bet.
The question is, why'd he bet so much?
1) it was a bluff
2) he had the 6 or a high pair but put you on the ace and wanted to scare you off and not give you another shot at a set.
I love this game!

How come nobody mentioned anything about him having Ace and high kicker? What "tipped" you off that he doesn't have that hand?

Hmm...Well you didn't raise the pot so the guy probably doesn't put you on an ace first of all, so a bluff reraise is possible no? I do not know how good this player is but there is the basic thought of, "Would he really raise with a 6?", but it turns out it was a minimum raise...interesting. Now you call, ok...perhaps he thinks you have an underpair or something, I don't know. But then you check which is absolutely opening the door for him so he moves all-in to push you out, I guess he may have smelled weakness. Yes, he was in the BB so a 6 is certainly possible but I'd probably call. But I am a complete idiot so forget what I said...
