Hi, guys, sorry had to open another new topic, cos this is different question compared to the earlier one on 're-buy' format for my home tourney
just recap, i'm organising this home tourney just on behalf of my relative. my relative and his friends just want to have fun for the night. they wanna just come down and start playing, so they are not gonna care about pre-game setup
need some help here for some qn i have, thanks cos i'm the one doing all the pre-game stuff
i searched online like crazy but i all i get is 'how to play texas hold em, strategy play and rules'.
I need to know some pre-game administrative stuff
1)to determine who sits on wat seat, do i need the players to draw a random card from the deck and the player with the highest value card gets to choose where to sit first?
2)after the players are seated, do i need to deal cards to each player again and the player with the highest value card gets to have the Dealer Button first? Or do i just simply give the dealer button to the player on my left? (I am only a dealer, i am not playing)
3)what's the proper cards shuffle / cutting procedures before the game commence?
4)after every hand, what are the proper cards shuffle procedure ?
5)do i need to burn the top card first before i deal the 1st card to the small blind?
6)when a side pot is created when a player goes all-in at the flop betting, other players can still call/raise at the turn and river betting, am i right?
i'm not really well versed in this all-in thing
7)if the side pot is not won, does the chips in the side pot go back to each player (except for the player who goes all-in) equally ?
thanks for all ur answers
i would appreciate it very much if someone can help me with all this, or can direct me to a online guide that answers all these "PRE-GAME" Stuff ,
i'm not looking for the rules of the game and how to play the game, cos i know em thanks

i'm getting the sense that you need to lighten up about getting the rules right.... like you said this is jsut a friendly game for fun... you don't need to worry about proper shuffling techniques and stuff like that...
1)... don't bother with that.. just let people sit where they end up sitting... unless the same peopel are sitting in certain spots and you suspect them of cheating this is jsut a waste of time...
2)... deal one card to each player... highest card is dealer... if it's a tie deal the tieing players another card each until you have a winner...
3) just shuffle like normal people shuffle... unless someone is completely terrible then just have someone shuffle for them..
4) just shuffle...
5) no... just start dealing cards.. only burn is necessary when when going to flop/turn/river...
6) yeah... even with a side pot betting is still allowed...
6).... kk i'm going to clarify the sidepot thing...
player A has 500 in chips...
player B has 1000 ...
player C has 1500...
flop comes... player A goes all-in.. b and c call..
main pot is 1500 chips...
turn.. player b bets 250 and c just calls...
main pot is still 1500 and side pot is 500
river.. player b checks and c bets 250... b calls...
main pot is 1500, side pot is 1000...
player A shows royal flush... player b shows 9 high and c shows 2 pair...
player c wins the side pot for 1000 and player A wins the main pot for 1500
player A has 1500 in chips..
player b is out
player C has 1500 in chips...
7) there's no way the side pot won't be won...
