Wish I'd went to the Aussie Rules Football game instead...
Two limit tables open, $5/$20 ($100 buyin) and $10/$20 ($200). No limit tables ranged from $1/$2 ($80 buyin) up to $3/$6 ($500, I think). 10% rake.
Now, to be fair, even though USD ~ AUD, I understand that until the US economy started tanking, it was more like 1- 2. So, this is probably more like a $2/$4 game.
I played the $5/$10, generally pretty bad play as you'd expect at the lowest limit. A couple guys who knew what they were doing, complaining about the people who call with 93o in mid position and hitting. *sigh*
Anyway, loads of fun people, even though I got a continuing streak of 62o J6o and the like, and didn't play much.
Dealers: pretty good, kept the game running.
Drink service: horrible. I never saw anyone come by the table to ask for orders. I saw people wandering around with trays of drinks, maybe I just didn't know the high sign to get their attention. While on the list, I thought I saw people paying for drinks. Apparently not like Vegas, can jeffonline or someone confirm?
Location: pretty good, I was staying a couple blocks from it, and the ferry stopped about two blocks. Looked like you had to pay for parking, I don't know if they validated. Pretty close to downtown Sydney.
Overall, I guess I'd recommend a trip to Sydney if you're looking at going to Australia, and kill a night there, but don't make it a focus of your trip.
