Now, I've been playing poker for a while (like 1 year) but always with some friends who I started playing with (so they are far from pros) and playing PKR on the free money tables
I've been doing pretty good. Been watching allot of poker on TV and stuff
Now, the free money thing, been winning allot, even tournaments with 6-10 people (having trouble with the 50 people ones, always ending up between 10-20 out of 50)
But the real money, man, been playing for a month now, and it's been decreasing drasticly!!! As I watch the play, I always think, ok, good I folded since I would have had nothing. But if I flop something I hardly get anything cause the others have nothing or whatever, tryed slow playing, agressive playing...
My stack just keeps shrinking.
Now I never had the time to really read up on the calculating odds and outs and that stuff. I often read things like he's a 2:1 underdog with K K. How do you calculate that?
I need a good site for these things. Have the time now and really want to get into this poker thing.
So, help me wih winning some cash and please a decent guide to learning to calculate those odds.
I hope someone will help me. I don't know any pokerplayers (except for my friends, but they don't know how to play either)
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

Read the forums. There's thousands of posts. This question gets asked about once a month by someone new. Put some effort in and read.

The second menu item on the left on this website is Calculating Odds and Outs. Start there and then poke around some more...........
