Went to a local casino this weekend. Started playing blackjack Friday night and won enough to treat the wife, step-daughter and myself to dinner (about $60).
So Saturday morning I get up and head down to the floor. I had about $175.00 and thought about more blackjack. As I got down to the casino floor the pitboss, who knew me well and knew I loved playing poker, told me that they needed one more for poker and they would open the table and start playing. She also didn't like the way I always beat their blackjack tables to death when I come there. So I put my name on the list.
5 minutes later I am setting at the table and all around me are the "regulars". Locals who knew each other by first names, knew wives names and often got together to break bread. Just a bunch of "good ole boys".I thought I was screwed. I told them and basically played like a fish for the first hand or two. I chased a flush draw on the first hand when I was holding A2o. The second hand I played an inside straight draw down to the river. Both pots only cost me a total of $21.
After that it was straight ABC nit FL poker. I was never so relaxed at a poker table in my life. It was like everyone at the table was an open book after just one round of blinds. I mean I knew who had what by the way they bet and treated some flops.
My worst hand was a failed bluff. My best was a full house that beat a flush. The villian with the flush actually capped me on the river when he hit his flush but by then I already had my 10's full of 9's boat.
All in all I doubled up off them "good ole boys" and had a very very relaxing and fun time at the poker table.

Do I need to state the obvious or can everyone just see it anyway?

come on, $60 is a lot for some casino's. Especially the ones where one can feed a whole family for the same amount.
