Hi, I've almost exclusively played holdem live at the local casinos in my area. However, I want to try out some online poker. Could anyone who has good experience in both environments tell me what the most fundamental differences between the two are? I assume there would be a bit more loose play online than live (although I've sat at some insane tables in live casinos). I want to just an idea of the most general differences before I test the waters online.
I play a very tight game live and really only make moves once I've sat at the table long enough to get some patterns of the others' play and style. Will my style work in the online setting?
Thanks a lot for your help and sorry in advance if these questions seem basic/lame.
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com
