Getting dealt shiat on a stick (sorry about the repetition)

I am a new player and was playing at a casino yesterday for the second time. (5-10 limit and I bought in for 250). The first time I went I got some decent cards, made some moves, and things were just going my way for the most part. Anyways yesterday I wasn't getting any playable cards for the first 2 hours or so and when I did they were useless on the flop. A lot of players were calling. For instance I couldn't once try to steal the blinds. One guy in the game was calling, raising and reraising with really bad offsuit cards but was still winning a lot. This got me discouraged and confused. I thought my luck would turn around at some point so I decided to stay with my usual tight starting hands selection but the guy winning all the money with crappy cards confused me. I did end up luckily getting a string of good cards and almost broke even but I felt it was really lucky. If the blinds are eating you up. Should you stick to your preflop routine even if it means having to go home, or should you loosen up considerably? And how woud a good player (not me) have played through this? Thanks guys.

I'm assuming there was more than one table at this casino... see if you can switch tables. Take a break, go have dinner, and come back to the game.

If you're playing poker for fun, and you're not having any... go elsewhere.

Wow, it's like someone is just describing my poker life. I play with a group of guys that will play ANYTHING and will almost always catch a hand. When I raise preflop, I usually have to put half my chips in with A Q suited, just to ensure they don't call with rags. But generally I'll raise to 5x the big blind, someone will call with 9 2 and CATCH A FREAKING 9 making top pair. So believe me, I know exactly how you feel.
