Playing a home game NL, I had just bought back in for another $40 for a third time and was gonna call it a night if I got that taken from me, couple of hands later I had it up to $50. Action starts and first position make it $8 all day. He raises with anything, next guy calls, I look down and see Ad,7h and realize it's not the best hand but I want to see a flop. Next person folds and the small blind calls, big blind goes all in for another 12.5, he's a tight player who plays too timid sometimes, I was thinking about folding when the original raiser calls, and so does the guy next to me, ok I think lets see a flop. I knew what was comming next, the guy behind me, the only guy left goes all in to freeze out. The two players in front of me fold. I know it's a play but man my hand keeps shrinking up in front of me. I was going to fold when a quick check of the pot and my remaining chips made me realize I was getting 6 to 1 on my money. I thought damn, when am I ever going to get these odds again. I call.
First all in bet has Ac,Qc
Second all in better has 8c,9c (I knew he was making a play)
I have Ad, 7h.
Ok I think, flush for them is probably not gonna happen, I need to get lucky here and hit my 7. Flop comes and bam 7 comes off as the high card. YES I think, next card off is a 9. Damn, too good to be true. I hear someone says look at the diamonds and I think I see 3 of them. Ok one more and I have a flush.....next card off is a 3 of hearts. I'm a little crushed because the flop was tease but realized I was gambling on this hand. Suddenly the guy next to me says nice hand to me. I look at the board and realize the first 4 cards off were all diamonds, I had my nut flush before the river!!! $150 pot
That pot got me back on the right track, I took another big pot when I flopped a straight with Q,8 when the board came 9,10,J in a raised pot. First guy out bets $10, the next guy raises him $15 more, and I raise him $75. I got paid off that hand. Total pot was about $275.
I went from about to walk out the door to way up in about 20 minutes.
