Ive been curious about blind play too. Top pockets kind of explain themselves but what about A/10 to A/Q 10/10, J/J I tend to play these hands passively since Im OOP.

rest of hand is my WTF thread

I probably can't offer much wisdom , cos I don't play those limits.

But I will say this , when the guy opens 13x,I'm feelin like callin is the weakest of 3 options when im out of position throughout the hand.

Especially at such low limits, I'm feelin like AK is a hand you can go all way with before flop and not feel bad if you lose. I dunno, I don't know how these limits play. But I'd be under the assumption they overplay Ace x hands.

IF I did flat, I'd probably take control of the hand on this flop and lead out too. Especially cos you're 3 handed here and would be good idea to define your opponents hands.

I don't wanna be harsh with you here, cos I don't like berating peoples play. But I don't like your line here, think you played this a bit too passive, and have left yourself guessing.

As played, I might make a small error here and fold rather than a big one and do something like shove and pray with just top pair multiway facing all this action.

I'd like to point out, it's perfectly reasonable to assume AK can be good here occasionally, but I think it's a bigger error to get married here then to fold and lose just the money you put in before flop.

I prefer a re raise pre flop, and I prefer a flop lead too fwiw.

Just my 2cents

at these stakes u rarely get guys opening to 13.5bb, and if you got that far in stakes, you can see its a huge mistake to flat preflop, so this situation will never arise

i would say you rarely get guys opening for 13bb at any stakes, its a pretty funky bet whatever. I wasn't saying i would call PF either.

i just think you guys underestimate the quality of play in the micros, dont get me wrong, its full of spaztards but a fair amount of people play solid if not particularly imaginative or maybe even good poker.

but generally the rule is PF everyone plays incredibly passive, you rarely rarely even see a pot 3-bet preflop. Speculative or imaginative play is fairly uncommon (you see the odd Negreanu wannabe (over)playing suited-connectors) but generally PF people play the cards for what they are because they have no other info to go on.

So i think you can narrow peoples range down fairly drastically PF, in this spot i think we would be happy with a flip, but just as often we're getting crushed.

he's obviously not folding this hand, so what can we beat Ax? he's not making this move without a PP (maybe just maybe AQ but its fairly unlikely). Just because he's a fish dosn't mean he cant have a hand. The more i think about i just don't think this is a great spot to get our money in. Maybe if we were shortstacked but for 100bb im think this is a fold.

Basically noobs arn't comfortable betting alot PF without a hand - is what i was trying to say with that essay

just my 2 cents

Word. Seriously, why call there?? What have you learnt by doing that?

Posted Sun Jun 28, 2009 9:44 pm GMT by Jonniedough
for two seconds I thought fold.
Then couldn't think of a time where I did fold AK pre.
At this level any thing over 5x is usually big pockets.
He had aces, the other guy had QJd

I really have no rational answer for calling.

so today this happens...and he leaves the next hand

All of this is if we are read-less:

You should be folding all the above hands to this raise. If you mean a standard raise, I'd be 3-betting all but A-10.

As others have said about the AK hand, your spewing money by calling preflop since you miss the flop so often. As played you should never consider folding this flop.

I'd snap call with your stack, full stack and read-less I'd fold.

BAH!!! With this tiny stack you need to call here all day. Stars has the auto-top off feature, you should never start a hand short-stacked.

Also, raise more pre-flop after 2 limpers. You need to get the pot heads-up with someone, a 3.5X raise after 2 limpers is begging for a multi-way hand.

snap f*cking call

also you really shouldnt put this in advanced theory lol

are we analyzing a hand?

Thats what I was questioning, Ive gotten AQ the last couple times playing and was seconding guessing what to do in the blinds.

thanks everyone, its grounding, its made me realize I need more help then I thought on my cash game.

Im sure the same with tourneys too but thats another day

If didn't want the criticism I wouldn't have posted the hand, its much appreciated!!

a good rule of thumb for limpers is to take your standard 3/4xbb opening raise and add another BB for every limper.
