I know preflop isnt the greatest but I was protecting.

I thought a min raise may induce a reraise from an A, obviously he didnt have one.
Should I have called and lead out or check raise depending turn?

raising villain on this flop is bad imho, i can understand not wanting a heart to come off but 3/4's of the deck is a beautiful turn card (ie. nearly anything) and if we float we can induce another bet on the turn by checking a non-heart. by raising you are isolating him to a range including the remaining three aces in the deck, and possibly heart draws. sets seem unlikely as he has raised UTG+1 and i think doing this with a small pp is far from standard

as to leading out on the turn i see this as a viable option but personally i check bcuz we have the stone cold nuts and want to give him the opportunity to represent an ace vs our perceived flush draw
