I have a Q8o, or something like that. I know I had a queen. I check with it. On the flop 3 spades, and an Ace comes up, I have a flush draw obviously, but i'm thinking someone may be packing the King so I bet an average amount. On the turn the King of spades comes up, I make the nut flush obviously. So I bet 100 or so if I can remember. On the river another spade comes up...QUESTION: It doesn't matter if someone else has a spade does it? I mean I have the highest possible, so I thought I would win the pot entirely but. I raise 100, reraise 200, then rereraise all in to both guys. I flip the nut flush and...The guy to the left of me flips 3-2s, which makes a straight flush. So I lost everything, but really. Did I play this badly or not? I was thinking maybe he is something of an amateur and he actually has a lower flush but he just wants to play it, plus he had already commited a fair amount of (FAKE) money. Anyway, how should I have played it?

You said you checked with Q8o... so you were the big blind? And the guy with 32s was to your left? If thats the case, this guy is entering the pot with a terrible hand under the gun... a sure sign he's not playing a very tight game, and is probably quite an amateur.
I'd have played it the same way... you can't really be afraid of miracle hands like that.

You must play an awful lot dude cos u seem to post a new bad beat here every day! Tell me where u play, I wanna come join u.....
U cannot really legislate for a straight flush if only 3 connecting suited cards are on the board. The story would be different if there were 4 connectors bcos u'd have to seriously consider throwing away a nuts flush to a large raise if u were calling last.
You were unlucky. Conspiracy theorists will tell u that online poker is rigged to hell and back so sometimes things seem like they are stacked against u. The reason so many people complain of rigging is bcos of the sheer speed of online play which enables a lot more hands to be played per hour and so pretty much every hand/bad beat will turn up every now and then. Statistically it pretty much has to, u just have to join at the right time
On a side note: I have heard people saying that they can 'beat' play money tables by knowing when to go all-in etc with shitty cards and NEVER lose. I've yet to see this in action and I assume it's all talk but can ne1 shed any more light on this?

Haha, yeah I do seem to post a new bad beat every once in a while. I don't play all that much i'm just very unlucky... Nah, they are just cards, not supernatural forms which can be manipulated, I just said, "Nice hand", when he picked that up, I really got out-drawn. I play at pokerroom, and I haven't played all that much recently. I guess I just complain a lot about hands that I should have played better, anyway. I suppose I should have bet a lot more, or went all in with the nut flush. I didn't see any possibilites of a full house and what not, I suppose that was the correct play. The other guy, I think he had a weak flush, I can't remember. Oh wait, he mucked his hand, so I guess I'll never know, but I think I beat him. Earlier on in the game I had to muck AA...I bet an average amount on the flop, perhaps that was a bad play, then an 8 7 7 rainbow came up. I bet moderate because I knew someone could have a 7 up their sleeve. A king came down and the guy beside me bet a lot, so I thought he may have a king. I called, probably should have raised and on the river he catches another king. He goes all-in, perhaps bluffing me very nicely but it hurt to lay down the bullets. Anyway, I know I complain a lot about these hands but at least it's something to read!
EDIT: Yes I was in the big-blind.
Thanks.
