low pair, high kicker

suppose you have Ax or Kx, and your low card pairs on the flop. Someone bets. I will fold every time, but I wanna kick myself for folding when the card that would've made me a set or 2 pair comes on the turn. Is it ever correct to play in this situation?

is this limit, nl,??? what position are you in? was the pot raised? these are all very relevant questions.

I play solely NL.

If I am in early position, I will check and fold to a raise. If I am in late position, with a raise in front of me, and the flop is low cards, I will often re-raise. This will gain me valuable information. If the person calls my bet, they were either A. semi-bluffing or B. had top pair. If they re-raise me, I will muck the hand 95% of the time. Granted, I don't do this all the time, probably 1/3-1/4.

in NL, in EP, i like to sometimes lead at the pot when my low card pairs. This has value in it will win the pot occasionally, when an A hits, my hand is well hidden, and i can be primed to win a big pot. A/ small is not a hand that you will catch me playing very often in MP or LP.

bit tipsy right, now, but if your calling K/x dont ever do it!!!!!!! A/x is iffy only if you dont know who your playing with. Keep your calls to high connectors, suited if possible!!

no, johnnie, i never call with kx, unles it is suited, in which case i may call with from late position in an unraised pot. But i often find myself in this position in the big blind.
