just out of curiousity, since i've only ever played with my buddies and never in a real casino i'm just wondering exactly how the shuffling and dealing works in casino? what's the process?
like they collect the cards and then just "wash" them on the table or do they use an automatic shuffler? (btw is washing really a reliable way to randomize the deack?)
and then what? put em together, riffle shuffle em and then... get a player to cut the deck and start dealing? who's supposed to cut the deck?
just wondering cause we like to think we're all pro and wanna do everything like in the casinos
peace

I know that at a casino, the dealer shuffles and cuts his own deck. There are a couple of dealers on this board, so maybe one of them can give you a better description of HOW they actually shuffle the deck.

All the tournaments I play in are self deal. Usually the rules are that the person to the left of the dealer shuffles the cards and the person to the right of the dealer cuts them. Only after a shuffle and a cut do the cards get passed to the dealer.
