Ouch! 2 in a row!

So I was playing a 6-player $5 buy-in game at school, and we were down to 4. I'm dealt Q5 suited in the big blind. Flop comes KQQ. I bet out $5 (fake money, we started with like $25) dude re-raises me all-in, about $15 more. I think, and call. He flips K7. Turn is an Ace, river is a K. Damn!

Next hand, the guy to my left, very aggressive player, limps in. He checks and calls flop of 3 8 3. Turn: 3 8 3 7. He bets out, first guy who caught the K goes all-in. Dude on my left calls in a flash, turns over A 3. First guy flips A 8. River : 3 8 3 7 8.

Well, he didn't win in the end, but two two-outers in a row, that hurt.

What a lucky guy. I hate when your playing with people just just seem to have miracle outdraws.

At first I was gonna yell at you for going in with Q5 but than a re-read and saw I missed you were on the big blind. Yeah, I get three Q, I'm usually all in.

But in life, all things eventually even out, so for every bad river card, you'll someday get you miracle river card. I've been in big with Pocket K's only to be called by a guy with pocket A's, only to get another K on the river. Knowing the push/pull of the universe, I try not to get too excited!

thats wrong. Because most of us will fold the losing hand knowing odds are we are not getting that miracle card so we wont hit it as often as some retard who stays till the river all the time with 1 or 2 outs.

but he will lose more money than i will doing that.

No, I think your wrong! Miracle rivers do happen to good players. Just Look at Moneymaker last WSOP! I once went all-in with KK and was called my a guy with AA and got my King on the River! I've seen people with two high pairs going against a someone with trips and get a boat on the river!

I never said anything about staying in with rags.

I guess, however, it all depends on what your definition of a miracle card is? I think if you only have one or two outs on the river otherwise you gone and you get it, that a miracle.

Yes, good players do get lucky, but one who plays almost every hand will hit the miracle more than one who doesn't because, simply, they play every hand. A player will hit the miracle, say, 1 out of 25 times. However, a GOOD player will try 5 times, in say, 12 hours, while a bad player will try all 25 of those. See what I mean?

I agree with that 100%! In fact, I won't even play low limit hold'em games on line because it's just really like a slot machine.

I have to admit I do love the free tournaments. I love to sit back and fold every hand and watch the bad players knock each other out of the tournament. Once I see that the automatic raising is over, I might start playing. The best is when I start on the button. Usually 25-30% of the players are already gone by the time the blinds get to me.

Anyway, any hold'em player who says he has never prayed for that one lucky card to come up in the river is a damn lair. We've all been there. But you right, most of us had a strong hand going in and were bested.
