Anyone have any suggestions?
I'll be there for a 24 hour poker binge (if my bankroll lasts of course) Saturday to Sunday. I've never been to AC. I've played a lot online but hardly have any casino experience. I've played twice in my life at a casino. Last minute tips are greatly appreciated as well. :D
Thanks all!
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

I don't have any advice that you don't probably already know. You'll be at a full table the entire time so play a good tight game and watch the other players very carefully. Don't get too drunk and stop if you're getting too tired. Make sure that you have enough cash to be able to take the swings that can easily happen. Good luck and don't forget the trip report when you get back.

that sucks. What broke on your car? Was it expensive to fix?

I woke up to a large puddle of red underneath my car (I think that's transmission?). Didn't feel like actually breaking down on the road. Anyway, my buddies were in AC since Thursday and I couldn't get work off. So I was gonna head up Saturday morning from MA (about 6 hours). I talked to them today. They said the wait for 2-4 and 4-8 tables was ridiculously long (I believe they went to Borgata, Wild West, Taj Mahal and some other place I can't remember). They didn't end up playing any poker. Three outta four lost money at Blackjack and Let it Ride. The other just broke even.

at least the car saved you from a long drive (by yourself?) from a pokerless weekend. If i went to AC and didnt play poker I would lose it.

Hey there! 1st post, here we go. I just went to the new Borgata casino / Hotel in AC & I must say that i had a blast. The hotel looks awesome and they know how to treat their customers. The poker room is sweet. They have all types of games going including "No Limit".I went down there on a spur of the moments notice and it was a lot of fun. I played the 2-4 tables for 8-9 hours straight. It was getting rough, until i found out that you get a poker room rate when you play for 8 hours or more. So the room rate from $440 to $39.95! Big difference huh. The No limit table is pretty cool, i have to try that one next, cause i am a all in type of guy. No limit table is minimum of $60 but no more than $300 at a time. You can't reach in your pocket for more cash unless your out of chips. So you definitly can rack up some dough. So for a first time visit.I was treated nice, i was very comfortable & the Women both workers and guest are Hot as hell! So make it a 2-3 day trip and enjoy!

The Borgata has the nicest poker room in AC by far. It's great for the variety, the girls, and the tournaments. The only problem is the size. I've seen the waiting list for 2/4, 3/6 60 people deep before. If you're looking to play poker right away, the Taj is the place to go. I play there 2/3 times per week and have never waited longer than 20 minutes for any game already in progress. The competition at the Taj is a little tougher. There are many "casino pros" that play there everyday all day.

I was at the Tropicana on Sunday. I played in the 40$ buyin Tournament with rebuys and an addon. I finished in the top 40. It was my first B&M Trounament and it was great. I probably will never play limit hold em again. It was such a rush playing in the tournament. I played really good too but once the blinds got to 500/1000 I wasnt aggresive enough and had one bad beat that pretty much kept me short stacked that when I went all-in my AJo didnt hold up against pocket 4's and I was history.
Tropicana has Tournament just about everyday of the week and I know Taj Mahl has tournamnets week nights but not on the weekends. I will be back at the trop on Sunday July18th and I will try to play Monday night at the Taj if I able to stay an extra night.
