Bad Beat JPs

im just wondering what kind of jackpots ( if any ) your local casinos have for hold 'em..

Canterbury Park in shakopee, MN had bad beat.. aces full of tens or better has to lose to 4 of a kind or better.. both players must use both hole cards. winner of hand gets 25% of jp total, loser gets 50% of jp total.. and all other players at the table split the other 25%. the jackpot regularly gets over 50k and has gotten as high as $125,000 from what ive seen.. its pretty nice bonus to playing there..

just wondering if this is pretty standard for most card clubs or what?

My casino does not have any bonuses at all. No high hand, no bad beat, no nothing. I wish it did.

Same where I play, I dont really mind though, the odds of hitting the jackpot would probably be pretty slim, I think i'd rather have the couple bucks extra per pot that they'd take for it.

Jackpots are a scam. Stay away from jackpot games if you can. They don't run them on the higher limit games usually because the higher limit (often smarter too) players wouldn't tolerate it. And with good reason.

The house takes a LOT of money per hour for the jackpot. Ever see the jackpot offered posted in the casino? Hours and hours go by and no adjustment, or if there is one, it's a token adjustment in no way reflective of what players actually paid. The casino keeps most of the jackpot that they say is "for the players." The jackpot is something that helps casinos advertise to dumb players.

Jackpots help make players money like drinking a coke puts them in the middle of a volleyball beach party full of sexy young friends. Or maybe you just didn't put enough ice in yours.

Added to the rake, jackpots make playing in casinos extremely expensive. They're no friend of the player.
