Initial Success?

I haven't been playing Hold 'Em for very long (a couple of months) and have been to the casino three times at 3-6 tables) and was wondering if I should be encouraged by not losing in any of my three sessions. The first time I went, I played for about 10 hours and left up $124. The second session wasn't as good as I played too lose early and fought my way back to +$12 in about 3.5 hours of play. Today I played for about 4.5 hours and left up $64. I generally play fairly tight, but seem to be a little too loose after winning a couple of pots. How did you guys (and girls) do in your first few trips to the casinos? Should I pat myself on the back for not losing money or should I focus in on the bad plays I made and try to not let my initial sessions fool me into thinking I am better than I am?

Of course you should feel good about it. Anytime you end a session up you did well whether it's your first time in a casino or your hundredth time. My first time I lost a couple hundred. No big deal, I played for about six hours and didn't make any bone-headed mistakes so I had nothing to complain about. Just remember these last few nights when you have a few losing sessions that are bound to come.

definate yes to both. Pat yourself on the back because you did well. Then focus on the bad plays you made and figure out a way to not do them again. Even during a winning session everyone makes some mistakes. Always do your est to keep from repeating those mistakes.

Dont start calling yourself a world champion just yet. But keep playing the way you are and see how you fare over time. Its best to record all of your wins and losses.
