i had just sat down at a .50/$1 table at pacific. I posted the blind and gotTs 4s. the flop comes 3s, 3d, 8s. Little blind bets, big blind raises. I figure if the flush comes I'll pick up a pretty nice pot, so I call. There's one caller behind me, and Little blind re-raises. Now I'm concerned about a full house, but since I already called 2 bets, I figure I might as well call a 3rd. 5s comes on the turn. With a flush on board, and after a re-raise, I expect the big blind to call unless he has something really good. He raises again. I figure either he or the little blind has a full or a nut flush, so I fold. river comes 9h, there's a bunch more betting, and little blind ends up taking the pot with 3 7 off suit.
It just seems that with weak flushes, I'm damned if I do, damned if I don't. when I fold it turns out I could've won the pot. when i call I get beaten by a bigger flush. How should I play a weak flush in a pot with a lot of raising?

I found myself in a similar situation again. I have QJs in late position. Flop comes 9s, 4s, 6s. It checks around to me. I bet and get 2 callers. Another 4 comes on the turn, and I bet again. They both call. A third 4 comes on the river, and now one of the guys comes out betting. I figure he had a 9 so I fold. Turns out he had Kc 7s. Grrrrrrr.

investor, i probably shouldn't dignify your post with a response, but i will.
why don't you invest your time in something more productive than sh1ttalking? this is the beginner's forum. everyone sucks at first.
furthermore, you've only made 2 posts here, and you're alredy pissing people off. I'd bet that your first post was more of the same, and you probably get a kick out this type of thing. Well, I suppose you can't help that your parents raised you to be an ass, so no hard feelings.

what kind of beginner are you? You've made over 100 posts. If you haven't figured it out yet...you probably never will. I don't feel sorry for people who play limit and complain. Unless you're playing the top 10 hands all the time , you probably won't be successful playing limit. If you don't want bad beats , try NL...you get less.

I also run in to this situtation at times. I have 2 suited cards something like 5 9 2 of the same suit come down on the flop and another on the turn and people are betting big. I get worried and i will usually fold and the guy who takes the pot will have like two pair or something.

That's kind of funny Krakajak, you just gave someobdy else advice on this situation in another post. I would have folded after the flop. There was what, roughly $2.25 in the pot at this point and the bet was $1 to you? 2:1 pot odds and your chance of hitting the flush is roughly 5:1, and it's not even a high flush. In low limit games, let the loose-aggressive guy take those pots, when you flop a monster he'll pay dearly for it.

I don't know how many people were in pre-flop so it's hard to talk about the pot odds, but I probably would have bailed on the flop with two 3s and people raising. That being said, if you make the initial mistake of staying in on this, hitting your weak flush on the turn, considering the limits, it's time to check call to the showdown. The fold isn't necessarily a BAD move here, but at the .50/1 limit people will stay with anything. I'm surprised none of the other callers had the flush, but it doesn't truly surprise me that your raiser is going hog wild with 3 of a kind.
Going back to pot odds for a second: Nut, you mention their being roughly 2.50 in the pot when it was $1 to him on the flop. I somehow doubt this. Again, we don't know how many preflop, but I'll guess 8 considering the limits. No raises PF so that's $4 in the pot. So, by the time it hits Kraka, it's actually 5.50 in the pot to Nut so it's worth the call (barely). Once he gets hit with the reraise it changes, but the initial call wasn't a bad one assuming I'm right +/- 1 person pre flop.

Thanks for the advice guys, and thanks for sticking up for me as well.
As for the investor, I know his handle and where he plays. Perhaps I'll watch him for an hour or two, and take real good notes, then jump in the action. He won't know it's me, and that I'm gunning for him.
So investor, beware the unfamilair face...

Suited Holecards- You will only be dealt suited holecards 5.88% of the time! So this is how you should play them:
* play suits in late position with at least 6 or 7 callers
* without overcards; you must flop a 4flush draw in order to continue.
* limp in as cheaply as possible; no raises
* 2 to 1 against someone being dealt same-suited as you....and it's 6 to 1 against that person having a J kicker or better than you! So if you hold a T flush or higher...if the pot is large...then u should definitely pay to see the river!!!
