Thankfully it didnt happen to me but this really sucks.
Ok i was playing in Atlantic City last week in a $100 buy in tourney or about 75 people, we each starting with 2500 in chips.
This hand i was dealt a crappy 2,6 os, so i fold it. One guy has pocket 3's and another has q,10(clubs). The flop comes out Kc, 3d, Jc. The one with pocket 3's bets 50 and gets called. Turn comes out 3s. Wow this guy has quads and with no hesitation gets 150, betting small to try and get the other guy to come in; After about a 1 minute delay so the guy can think he calls and what do you know the river is the lovely ace of clubs giving the guy the royal. Now the guy with the royal checks trying to get the other guy to bet and he bets all his chips and gets called, I couldnt believe what i just saw. Quads getting beat in a casino is like a million to one. It was kinda funny and the one with the quads just left so fast he wanted to go back to his room and cry and I cant say I dont feel for the guy.

thats pretty tough, but only betting 150 is practically giving the second guy a free look at the river....

Oh man..
I agree with swiftone that such a small bet is a free look at the river, BUT,
if that happened to me I would leave immediately and take a break from poker for a little while, lol, that's a horrible beat!

But I just made that up, so don't mind me...

Making it up?
I've had quads cracked.
In fact, it was quad threes.
To a SF, Q high, not the royal.
And it was last night, actually.
It's a rarity, but come on, you name me one thing in this game that is completely unfathomable, and I'll give you a cookie.

Snoogins, I think you've suffered every kind of bad beat there is.

a bad beat??? sure, but the guy has nobody to blame but himself for not betting hard enough.

Aww... come on! Sure he didn't bet much so he scared no one, but I'm pretty sure that most of us would've done the same. I mean, he had quad 3s, the only thing that could beat him was a straight flush. The Q and T of clubs were on the table, and for the guy to have 2 of the missing 3 for the SF, and the third card to fall on the river was HIGHLY improbable (yes it happened, but still)... So for him to set a trap was the good move IMO.
When you're dealt AA, now that's true, you have to bet hard to minimize the chances to get outdrawn, but here the guy had freakin' quad 3s!!
