AK head up, rag flop

I get Ad, Kh in late position. Two people already called. I raise, the little blind re-raises, and Everyone else folds. I put him on one of 4 hands, AK, like me, AA, KK, or QQ, most likely queens. Flop comes all rags, with 2 diamonds. LB bets. I figure if I catch an Ace or a king I'll probably have him beat, and pot odds justify a call, so I call, thinking I'll fold on turn if I don't catch a card. Another diamond comes on the turn, giving me the nut 4 flush. This time LB checks. I didn't think he's be scared of a flush in a head up situation if he had a made hand, so I change my mind and put him on AK too. I check, and another rag comes on the river. He bets. I figure he has AK, and has put me on a weaker ace, so I call, figuring we'll split the pot. He turns over jacks.
Should I have folded, and if so, when.

If there is just junk on the board and someone has been relatively passive, but on the river becomes aggressive, he very well might have an overpair to the board. This opens up hands like JJ/TT/99 into what he may have. In a limit game I would most likely call the bet becuase it's just one bet, but in no-limit ya gotta lay it down, can't play high card.

This depends on who you are playing and how they have been playing, your chip stack and his chip stack. Does he raise with garbage hands? Is he a tight player?

Overall, I'd say from what you told me, I'd have folded. I ever call a good raise on the river unless I at least have a pair. It's hard to tell since we don't know what what up on the flop?

Probably he put you on a pair but after you checked on the turn, he knew his jacks would hold up. But again, we don't know anything about the game.

2 ways to play this-1st of all, if someone 3 bets, I put them on a pocket pair. Flop all rags w/ position, if he bets, I dont call, raise or fold. If you raise, he should 3 bet with any overpair, then you can fold or see one more card. If he just calls your raise, then you can check the turn and see the river for free.

Given the situation the way you played it, I represent the flush on the turn and bet. If he has AK like you suspected, he will likely lay down. If he made a flush and check raises, then you can fold. Anything else, he will just call because he fears raising into a flush. You can then bet the river if you make your flush or hit a A/K. If you miss and think that another bet will take it down, or you can just check the river and see if your AK is good.
