Im sure everyone has had nights like this before, was playing a home NL game... everyone bought in for around $50, .50-1 blinds. 8 Players.
First Hand
Dealt AK spades in the cutoff, 3 Call before me so I raise to $5, everyone folds except for 1 Mid position player.
Flop was K,8,3 with 2 spades.
Mid position player comes out and bets $5, wasnt really sure what I could put him on, AA,KK,AK he probably would've raised with preflop. Pocket 3s and 8s I could see him try to limp and then call a raise with and hope to flop a set. I decided i'd reraise to try to figure out the strenght of his hand, so I reraise $10 more to make it 15. He Calls. So im more confused now than before, A set of or 3s or 8s he probably would've reraised to scare out any possible flush draw. The Turn brought an Ace, he checked to me, I went all in, with top 2 pair with a flushdraw. He calls and flips over pocket aces.. No Spade on the river and im down $50 first hand
Im not entirely sure how I could've played this differently, what do you guys think?
