I heard that a Rounders Special Edition was coming sometime in the near future. Is there any truth to this at all?
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

Yea this is true. After some research, I found out it's going to come out in the very near future, forget exact date. I found a site that's taking Pre-Orders for 16.99. I saw the DVD box itself, it was pretty cool.

I'm sure they will have coverage of both Matt Damon and Ed Norton at the 1998 WSOP. Hopefully they will show the hand when Damon went all-in with pocket kings against Doyle Brunson's pocket aces.

I found the site that is taking Pre-Orders for the DVD at $15.99, which is a really good deal I think, although I have no idea when it comes out.

I can't find a list of the special features anywhere tho. . .
side note . . . Geno, I HATE, hate hate hate the concept of regional DVD coding - who the ef are these professional wank-artists to say that my japanese street racing discs or brazillian cage fighting or french pro-league surrendering finals won't work . . . that's TOTAL BS. It's such a horrible concept - and they only get away with it because the consumers that buy things in or from other countries are such a tiny market segment.
And before any frenchys around here get on me for making fun of french people I just want to say three things:
1) I've been to france and found the stereotypes to be reasonable accurate
2) I've made fun of the french for years - it's not a 'support W' thing.
3) Je plaisantais seulement mes amis. En fait, je voudrais joindre votre armée française. J'ai même mon propre drapeau blanc.

laugh my ass off Johnny!!!
It's ok bud the french are legitimate targets, as are french sympathisers! (ooops is my WWE fandom showing?)
ermmmmm i dunt really know about imports, but i bought my DVD player for £40 from asda and its multi regional does that mean i can play anything on it? 8) i think it does as i've had no probs with anything i've ever played on it

I don't think regional coding is a bad idea, it cuts down on piracy which helps keep prices in the realms of normalcy. Of course, if u have a bit of savvy like I do, u can de-region every single DVD player thru various means. I have done that and have a selection of R1 and R2 DVDs which also helps make my collection decidely more eclectic than if I were to pick up discs solely in the UK market.
Rounders Special Edition released on Sept 7th 2004

Oh dear god, the spammers are everywhere, check out the two 'reviews' under the Rounders Special Edition DVD at Amazon.com:

Play Poker Online!, August 25, 2004
Reviewer: Bonus Codes For EmpirePoker.Com - For Up to $100 Bonus (20% Deposit) Use " Chips4184 ", For A Flat $25 Bonus Use Code " BOOKSTORE " - See all my reviews
If you want to play poker online I recommend this room. It is the largest in the world and has the weakest and loosest play imaginable. You have people calling with Ace high down the river, you have people call to the river with inside straight draws. It's in all truth a great place to start playing poker and if you use the codes above you'll already be ahead with some extra cash.

The poker movie classic just got better!, August 22, 2004
Reviewer: PartyPoker "See you at the tables!" - See all my reviews
This is the poker movie that started the big poker craze. When you think of movies about poker, this is the first that immediately pops into your head.
Along with the World Series of Poker and the World Poker Tour, poker has just exploded in popularity in recent years. Now you can play online at cheap tables and have a lot of fun. There are even free real money bonuses when you sign up and make a deposit.

I despair, I truly do.

I'll likely pick it up tonight. Can't say when I'll get to watching it again, but I'll post a little "special features" review after I do.

I saw a list of special features on the Bestbuy website and it doesn't look that great. This better not suck!
Posted Tue Sep 07, 2004 1:19 pm GMT by AlicanteKid
Even if it didn't have extras (it has a few), I'd buy it because I love the film and the older version had pretty weak video and audio. I just sold my old copy on eBay and got about $14 for it, so that should be able to cover the bulk of the cost for a new one.

I ordered it from Amazon. Went with the one-day shipping because I cannot wait. I'll let ya know how it looks when I get it on Thursday!

I got it..and let me say...that it is worth it alone for the Audio commentary track that has the movie and in the backround has Johnny Chan, Chris Moneymaker, Chris "Jesus" Ferguson and Phil Hellmuth....
There is a BOMBSHELL in the commentary but I won't spoil it.......
Well....okay I can't keep a secret.....It will be on the GENERAL CHAT...
Posted Wed Sep 08, 2004 12:36 am GMT by redd38
ah cool, i didn't know that commentary would be on there... i usually like those things. and Rounders with those guys must be great
Posted Wed Sep 08, 2004 1:59 pm GMT by Sean_in_NJ
Aside from the commentaries, the special features are far from impressive. The "Tips from the Pros" section is very short, and contains mostly things everyone on these forums already know. There is an easter egg on the special feature menu which should be pretty easy to find, and that's a nice little snippet, although very short as well. The heads-up texas hold'em game is a waste of time. The behind the scenes documentary is something I'd seen in the past.

I am gonna order it from Canada because none of the UK DVD sites have it even listed as due for release, only the vanilla original release. Curse this wretched island
I shop at www.dvdsoon.com which has free shipping even to the UK. So far their service has been universally amazing and reminds me that prices here are double wot they should be! To reiterate - NEVER move to England if u live in the US

Well, I gotta wait an extra 2 years before the latest Eddie Izzard concert DVD comes out here. It's absurd!
