keep getting beat

Posted Tue Jul 06, 2004 4:33 am GMT by krakajak
I had AA, KK, QQ, or AK 14 times today, and I only won 2 hands with them. Here is a typical eample of what happens when I get one of these hands. Am I getting out plated, or am I just unlucky? I put my reasons for why I play the way I did in parentheses.

$.45 is raked from a pot of $9.35.
Korrupt187 wins $8.90 with straight, ace high.

Anyway, I don't see how I could've played it any different. I wouldn't mind if this happened every so often, but it's like, whenever I get a good hand, if I could take insurance on it I would, cause I know it won't hold up. They just never do.

That example sounds just like bad luck to me. But looking at it, I'd say I'd have put him on the straight after that reraise after the flop. If he's been playing tight, I might have folded. That was such a hard call since you have a set of kings.

Usually I'd say in a low limit game like that it really hard to play well because players will stay in with anything.

Thats why I'm more of a fan of no limit because it's easier to scare them off.

Yeah Kraka, I can't fault you for your play there as I probably would have done the same. .25/.50 limit is SO loose anyway, that unless this guy was different than most, he could have started with ANYTHING.

yea if its a limit game there was nothing you could do about that.

and even in NL he had AK and after the flop had top pair and a straight draw...prolly couldn't have even pushed him out if it was NL
