I want to read up on holdem. I know super system is a good book but I plan to wait for super system II plus I dont really care about 7 card stud and various other games they have in super system. Can anyone recommend a good book for holdem?
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

Stay away from Hellmuth's book. Check out Ken Warren's work unless you feel you're advanced alraedy. Check out most of Sklansky's work, including his book on tournament poker (it's for all types of poker). Also check out Malmuth's Psychology of Poker, also from 2+2 publishing. While not a required reading, it gave me some serious insights into the game.

You have seen one Tzu, you have seen them all.
You are correct-Lao Tzu founded Taoism (Ying and Yang, nothing is all good or evil and all that BS)

Sklanskys Texas Holdem is an Ok book. I'd recommend it. You may also be interested in checking out "Winning Low Limit Holdem". That book helped me quite a bit in my earlier playing days.
