QQ , Did I Make the correct call ....

Hello ,
I want some advice on my call Last night in a multi table NL game.
I had the Chip lead 4,400 , average was near 1800 . 2nd in chips had 3800.
my table image was hard to know, but I had been showing down nice hands ,but I had also been pushng around the table .. reraiseing when I felt weakness , slow playing monsters ,value bets w/ top pair w/ weak kickers , getting called by mid pair . It was all working GREAT !!!
Untill..... (UTG) i got QQ , I raise my standard amount 4-5 times the BB
I get 1 caller near the button & a reraise from SB of 300 more , I call the 300 more , 1st caller folds

Flop = 2c 7h 8d
SB Checks to me , I bet 450 .. He Pushes all in ... Normally I'd fear AA , KK or a Set of 7's or 8's hard to reraise w/ 22 out of Po. IMHO
But after paying a fair amount of hands and watching this player carefully because he was 2nd in chips & making nice moves. I felt he would have slow played me if he had hit the flop HUGE. or had 2 pair ...or even 2 overs. I felt he was trying to protect a moderate hand or just buying the pot.

Soo.. I called his All in bet ... He turns over A8h v/s QQ , I'm loving It !!!
turn is a blank , River = As :x

Did I make the right call & just got out drawn or should I not even have made this call w/ QQ , faceing a Reraise & a check raise for all In ???

Any tips , advice or thoughts on this ?

i'll answer your question with a question. if something about that hand didn't feel right, why call an all-in and give one of the short stacks a chance to double up when you are the chip leader???

If anything "didn't feel right" It was his All in bet .. If It (his bet) had felt right I would have Mucked .

i don't think you were necessarily wrong to call, just that it is wise to exercise extreme caution about giving the small stacks chances to double up.

No, you did the right thing, you got outdrawn plain and simple. I don't know what your bet was in regards to the pot, that might of been your only error, but if he wanted to push it in with his A,8 then maybe it doesn't matter.

He has about a 20% chance of winning that pot (outside runner runner heart) he probably felt you had a bigger Ace and he got lucky and wanted to make you pay for "bluffing" he honestly probably didn't expect to get called.

With the other guy having a 20% chance I'd do it again the same way every time.
