So, last night I'm playing in a $5 SnG at UB and we're down to me and one other guy. This game had been quite a ride, mainly due to the fact that there were a couple of maniacs at the table, one of whom admitted to being drunk at the time... Mebbe a ruse, I know, but he was certainly playing like it. Anyways, I hadn't been able to take advantage of the maniacs like I had hoped and was short stacked for a while. In less than 25 hands we were down to 4 players and by hand 40 it was the two of us and he's got a 3-1 chip advantage over me. Long story short is that the two of us played another 40 hands minimum, exchanging the chip lead constantly, and at one point he made a comment that I took as a great compliment. He said "Dude, can you see my cards or what???", or something to that effect. Earlier he had said something like "you've got game, man" which I guess surprised him since I was short stacked for much of the game. He and I (wish I could remember his nick, at least I made a few notes so if I run into him again I'll know it's him) had a really great game and it could have gone either way, I just got a nice warm fuzzy after he said those things and felt like sharing...
Anyways, I'm not getting a puffed up head over this, rather just taking it as a sign that my game is improving. How would you all respond to statements like those? I just kept playing the same as I had been and eventually won when he went all-in with top pair when I had flopped a set of 3's. I think that pissed him off because although we had been chatty the entire game I didn't even get a "gg" out of him...

This happend to me today. SNG i took a few hits early and got shortstack. Then with that i made it to the final 4 slighty shortstacked. I played key hands and stole blinds when i could. Soon blinds were 300-600 and i had 1800 in chips. I moved all in on any ace. Which people folded to and gave me more blind money. I took 3rd place out who droped below me and then i had just a little bit more then 1st. We played another 30 hands. Blinds were as big as i have seen them 800/1600 I pushed him anytime i had the ace. And he called one time when i had AK to his A8 i won. Then he had just enough for blinds and got a few hands in. Then i manage to take him out. He was telling me all through the game that we final four were a good batch. And i think he was right any time a game goes that long its because people who know what there doing are playing.
