It just ended. I just had to vent about it.
I was rooting for Awada (sp?) the whole way. Fischman (sp? again), who won, was not the kind of player you want to win. Overcelebrating every win, getting lucky on the deciding hand, not giving any respect to the other players...ug. Why can't the decent players win more often? Negreanu, Ivey, T.J., where the hell are you?

Because he's a member of the CREW, who's taking over POKER. ::fearful music::
I'm counting the days until their leader Dutch Boyd is dead from his last endeavor online. I'm surprised he's been alive this long.

Yeah I remember hearing that tag-line too a few weeks ago. Someone better tell the Lederer, Flack, Ivey, and (insert your favorite player) that the "crew" is on the way.

I didn't like fischman from the first hand he played. Overcelebrating everyhand won. I liked the look on his face when awada(?) flopped two pair and rivered the fullhouse.
THE POKER CREW ain't got nothing........

Actually Fischman left me the same way that your signature say, short_stacked:

This goes for both games.......they both seemed to be a all in fest just about everyhand or am i just imaging it. I woulda liked to see more hands played out then all in everytime. I understand the hands where someone gets knocked out being shown. its just my opinion..........whats everyone elses...

Believe me, I think a few people have probably tried or at least wanted to end his days.

This is due to the fact that they have squeezed in a final table into 1 hour. If you caught the live tourney from the Turnstone Casino in NY where Ivey won (FOX Sportsnet) the other day, it was 4 hours long (some of that due to commercials) and much more interesting, but it was 4 hours for a 6 handed final table. They've cut out almost everything.
As to Fischman, just like Boyd, he's an A$$. Young, overconfident, punks. I can say this, and I doubt I'm much older than they are. Now don't get me wrong, they obviously have talent, but they are still punks.

I didnt see the entire thing, maybe the last 1/2. As much as I dislike his behavior and antics, can you blame him???? 23 years old and goes from $90K to $200K when knocking out the 3rd player then $300K for the win. Unless he grew up in a home of extreme wealth-that is life changing money.
I think that I would try to remain focused and in control, but with that kind of money on the line, I dont blame him for becoming overwhelmed.
How would the rest of you react to making a score like that?
Posted Wed Jul 21, 2004 8:15 am GMT by jwrussell
Have to agree with you there Dave. I do believe though, that his reactions were influenced by his "crew" being around. And although I'm sure I would be jumping for joy, his actions smacked of arrogance more than joy to me.

I didn't see it so I can't comment on his behavior. However, put in a situation where I could win $300k, I would have a hard time controlling my emotions as well. Hell, I'd probably cry if I won, that's like winning a small lottery.

Dave and jw's points are not mutually exclusive.
Sure, at the win, I can certainly see the excitement--it is life-changing.
Doesn't mean he can't be an arrogant a**hole too, which he pretty clearly is. Saying out loud how he'd take down the other guy "in five minutes". I sure would've liked to see that other guy point out his five minutes was up.
I wouldn't suggest that he and his "crew" don't have a bunch of talent, but flopping on the table is a bit of an overreaction.

He was acting like an idiot before he won, after you win a dollar amount like that, I'm sure it's tough to restrain some emotion, but don't throw it in someone else's face and don't come off like you know everything before you win.

Fischman is a pasty peice of shit. I like Boyd, hes got a more charisma and not as cocky. I dont know about the rest of the crew, but Fischman is retarted. He should feel some humility for getting LUCKY as all hell catching that 7, but no. Poker is part luck, so when you get EXTREMELY lucky, you have to acredit some of that to the win. Say if you win a tournament on a stone cold bluff or absoulutly flawless play, then yeah, your skill prevailed, but when 99% of your winning is luck (Fischman) than be happy but dont jump on the f$#*ing table like you are greatest poker player in the world. I hope I see Fischman at a table with Sam Grizzle very soon!!! OH I WILL PAY TO SEE SAM tear him a new one if he starts geting cocky!
Posted Wed Jul 21, 2004 5:45 pm GMT by PuckJunkieNY
Yeah, I would get verbally fist-pumping excited too at the end for sure, and maybe at some pivital hands. The thing with this kid is he seems to be lacking a bit in the class, humility and respect department. I refer to how he acted when he pulls a miracle river like that 7. We all love being saved like that, but quit acting like it was owed to you cuz you a bad azz member of "The Crew".

Yes that would be fun to see for sure. Toss in Phil Hellmuth at the table and ya really got a good one to watch.
Posted Wed Jul 21, 2004 6:10 pm GMT by djbaseball24
he already get ripped by Phil one time when Crew boy had A-10 and phil had suttin better but get outdrawn and he(phil) was like you best like being a 3-1 underdog or something like that.
The crew one guys name is open seat and some other gay names, there all stupid cocky punks cept for boyd.

Watch Boyd play DJ. While more.... to himself, he tends to be the same.

The thing that bothered me the most was that stupid filler piece that ESPN put together on those guys. Watching those idiots marching down the street was ridiculous.
Oh, and it's my opinion that you can't "name" yourself. It's pretentious bull****.

"The Crew" The group of guys i play with can do better than "the Crew"
Posted Thu Jul 22, 2004 12:03 pm GMT by ORGrinder
i couldn't stand that kid either. i also was NOT at all inmpressed with the eskimo in game 2 pulling his little trantrum at the end. sure, the guy he lost to (can't remember his name) talked a little smak... but it was in good humor and he seemed to respect the other players at the table. to not shake his hand and then curse about losing once you get off camera... how childish.
Posted Thu Jul 22, 2004 12:50 pm GMT by Dakijeza
I kept waiting for Fischman to say, "Man, I got lucky. That's poker. You played great."
He got outplayed and won.
I missed what led up to Eskimo's temper tantrum. I guess my favorite players are the classy guys who know how to win and lose.

glad i wasn't the only one who thought fischman's actions were despicable.
Posted Tue Jul 27, 2004 2:32 pm GMT by Matt T
I guess I'm in the minority, I don't really have a problem with the guy. Or the 'crew' for that matter. I was once a young buck myself. The only thing that bothered me was Eskimo's poor sportmanship.
Then again, I never had a problem with Moneymaker either. I guess I'm just 'easy'. 8)

I havent seen too much on the crew as i missed the episode that fischman won. (anyone have a torrent of it) But everyone seems to be hating on them, sure they're cocky.. but they are good players. If i remember right, fischman won 2 bracelets this year, and got 2nd or 3rd at the orleans open.
Probably accomplished a lot more than everyone who's saying the crew sucks.

I never said they sucked. You just have to see the episode to see what I'm referring to. They had a bit that was shot to look like a movie trailer with all of them dressed up and posing like characters in a movie. It was just cheesy.
