Heya all
I see people asking about places to play on the board so I thought I would break down and ask. I have checked out all of the Wisconsin casinos and none of them feature a poker room at all. I am a fish and am anxious to get into a real card room and lose some money. Now I don't want to lose money but I have never played anything in person other than a home game so I know it is at least partially inevitable. If anyone has ideas of places I could go nearby, obviously out of state, that would be wonderful. Thanks in advance.

Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

I play at Canterbury Park in Shakopee MN. Lots of tourneys and bonus nights. 2-4 to 15-30, limit play, no-no limit except for tourneys. Lots of tables open 24/7-very well run place.
under 300 miles from Madison, Mystic Lake Indian hotel/casino nearby as well.
Both have web sites if you want more details.

In case you haven't found out yet, Ho-Chunk Casino in Baraboo has poker now! Hold'em 2-4 4-8 5-10 etc. Hopefully if DeJope gets their casino permit... (don't forget to vote on it!) they will offer poker... Actually DeJope is a little too close to home for me to keep from playing too much...
email me if you have any questions

There is a poker room/club in Rockford Illinois. I have never been there as it is a 3 hour drive from Springfield. They do have a website and it seems like a reputable place. They hold tournaments for charity, not sure what the rake is.. Check it out.
