Ok Someone please Help me ...lol
I have a hole in my game, I cant seem to get away from this type of hand.... HELP
I was in a 22 man home game. 50$ buy in.
Its down to final 5 paying spots, everyone is happy blah blah...Very Next hand...
I'm 3rd in chips 4500 ish
blinds 200/400
I'm UTG w/ Ad/10s I raise to 800 , only BB calls
Flop : 3d 6h 10c
BB bets mini (400) I reraise to 1200 , I get called
I'm now not sure i'm ahead , I put BB on the following hands. 36s ,610 ,10w/J+kicker , or Rags ..guy was semi loose / aggressive
he had to Re buy after calling a Raise & a Reraise w/ A5o in the 1st 45 mins (buy ins 1st hour only) Anyway ....
Turn was As
He checks ,I bet 1000 , He Re raises me All in (he was 2nd in chips w/ 800ish more than I)
I call the last 1500ish (skiping turn thought process or lack there of )long story shorter.
He flips over a Set of 3's what Else ...?But my Dreaded Down fall THE SET !!!
River not a A or 10 ... I walk with Low payout
- I'm no Shark I know. I only have a year under my belt at best , but I've read Sklansky,Caro, various others ,And have logged alot of hours (mainly on-line) tried to study the game & the player . Am I a Still True Fish ??? Be honest ! or would alot of you get busted on this hand as well ?
Or do I just have a Blind spot for Sets ....? What is the % any player gets delt a PP again ? I know Making a set is ruffly 12% on the flop . Should I always Fear the Set ? Or was I pot committed and should have Called // 3000 of 4500 w/ top 2 Pair ? Please tell me where I went wrong & how to improve (IYHO)

I would have lost all my chips too
Its hard to put someone on trips like that but hay sometimes it happens.

From the betting pattern, the guy was either lucky or (more likely) putting a good read on your hand. Flopping bottom set, you would expect him to play it fast (vs the BB-level bet)....then he calls your raise, but checks the turn, even tho it was an A, thus luring you in.
My guess is there was a tell from you that had him putting you on high pair vs his trips and you got the 2 pair on the turn...
Most people (I think -- SOMEBODY ARGUE WITH ME) would bet out the flopped bottom set to try and prevent a draw out.....I think he didn't cause he read you.
IMHO

He played very well there.
He let you be the aggresor. Plain and simple he knew he had you.
My little brother has given me some good advice. If someone raises you think about why. You had an inkling with the 10 you were beat. Didn't see the pp but you had an idea you were beat.
I would have played the hand exactly as he did.
Honestly half the time I would have called his all in. All depends on how much I trusted my instinct. In this case I would have paused and re-evaluated what I thought he had.
I don't blame your play.
