Which do you think is better? The espn coverage of the wsop or the travel channel's wpt. Frankly I prefer the wpt, the way espn shows the wsop is pretty sad. They shortened it way too much.

I like watching the WSOP simply because they show more than just no limit hold em. Was pretty funny watching the blind mans bluff event on TV. Also, Sexton and Van Patten on the Travel Channel are starting to bother me with thier commentary but it's still poker so I watch it.

I prefer sexton and van patten to the espn announcers. They made the corniest jokes.
"Hey do you think tracy phan is single?"
"Let's put it this way, if there was a percentage next to your name for going out with tracy phan, it would be zero."

Might want to check out http://www.texasholdem-poker.com/forum/t3800/whose-telecasts-do-you-prefer?highlight=wpt+wsop for what people think.

I like WSOP better just because that was the first poker TV show I started watching. I believe time magazine just did an article on Poker and they were talking about both WPT and WSOP and said that WPT was the highest rated Poker show on TV.

I agree they are corny, but i think both WPT and WSOP announcers are pretty bad. It's a tough call picking between either of them. U think its funny on WPT the guy whispers as if the players can hear what he's saying and the commentary wasn't added in after the filming.

I prefer the WPT announcers. Norman Chad on ESPN drives me crazy. He talks about the most random stuff. ANd ESPN has no one to rival Shana Hiatt. haha

for the actual event, it's wsop. for the coverage it's wpt, no contest.

WPT because they have Shana. Check out my avatar!

I think they both do a pretty good job. I like that they differ in style and feel. They're both way better than FSN's coverage. For one, the announcers are much more excited on WSP and WPT, and to me, that makes a difference. At least act excited about the poker you're seeing.
Still, there could be more hand analysis in both the WOSP and WPT. Seems like the WPT would be the perfect place for that.

OK yeah Shana puts the WPT over the top. haha. ESPN should get Melissa Stark or someone like that to work on their telecast.
