Anyone ever try Wilson Turbo texas hold'em poker or Wilson tournament poker? Is it any good? Worth the money? Did it help your game? Poki Academy is suppose to be another good one. They look pretty cool, but I dont want to spend that much unless it will be useful.
Thanks,
Chris

I have turbo holdem. I like it for the most part. It has some really good features, like you can freeze the button, and practice playing from a particular position, or you can stack the deck and play the same hand over and over again, this gives you a good feel for how to play that hand under various circumstances. You can also run tests, but I haven't run any yet.
The advisor sometimes gives bad advice, however. For example, the program lets you raise and re-raise to infinity in a heads up situation, snd if you have pocket jacks, the advisor will want you to re-rasise like 5 times before the flop. Also, the advisor doesn't consider pot odds in heads up situations. And if you play ace-rag suited, and hit your rag, it will advise you to chase to the river, then fold. It also advises calling a pre-flop raise with any ace when you are the big blind, which is very bad advice, i think, because you lose a lot of money when you flop an ace and the raiser has a better ace.
But at the same time, it gives fairly good advise on which hands to play from which positions. If your positional play isn't up to speed, i really reccommend it.
Also, if you do get it, it comes with an add-on program called sindwinder sid, which you can unlock for $15. Big waste of money. All it does is replay the hands where you didn't follow the advisor's advice, and tell you you should've done what the advisor said.
