I play in this local MTT once a month. the buyin is $50, with $25 rebuy and $25 addon. The number of players is between 70 and 100. in the last 2 I have been taken out by KQ offsuit.... and I cant let it go :x In the first one, Im on the button with 38000 in TC, the blinds at 700/1400. UTG raises to 2800, the next guy calls, all fold to me, I wake up with JJ, and decide to pick up the blinds and the other bets, and move in for 38000.... I know that neither of these fellas has a big PP, and are apt to make a EP raise with A4 off, so the steal raise is in order. UTG calls and flips up KQ offsuit. And ofcourse K and Q hit, and Im down to 100 TC. Live and learn....
The next one, Im a little low, I have 20000 with the blinds at 700/1400, and find AA on the button (and no, I am not cheating) There are 5 limpers in the pot, and I think that I don't what a big family pot, and decide to pickup the 6800 in the pot, and i move in for 20000. I get called by KQ off... he hits a hearts 4 flush on the river to put me out. I couldnt see for about 10 min.
I think that I need to quit trying to make plays at this tournament, because these fellas cant seem to understand when they are beat....
In ome hand im in MP with 47 of diamonds... all fold to me, and i raise the blinds ( 200/400) to 1500. both blinds call. the flop comes Aspades 3d9d. Both blinds watch the flop and grimmace.... sweet I bet out 3000. the sb calls reluctantly. He is down to 2100 TC. Kc hits 4th street. He BETS????? I have to call at this point. I iknow im behind, but have outs. What is dude on???? any guesses????
KK DOH!!!!!!! Idiot called off most of his stack on KK with an A on board. Unreal. No help for me on the river. BOOOOOOO He was bust before too much longer. I need help on how to play in these tournaments. any suggestions???

Go all in every other hand....
Seriously though, I never seem to have much luck with KQ, either suited of offsuit. I'm almost to the point where I'd rather limp in with this hand than raise, even in LP.

Not sure why you went all in with JJ in that spot. The guy that raised has either 2 over cards or a higher pair if he calls. So you are basically hoping he will fold or has 10-10 or a lower pair. If he has a higher pair you are probably done and if he has 2 over cards then you are about 52 percent fave. I dont think you want to risk your entire tournament on a 50/50 shot with that many chips left.
Why not just call the raise or make a small reraise and see the flop. THen you could have gotten away from your pair of jacks when the King and Queen hit. If the flop would have been low then you could move all in.
of course the guy that called you with KQ was a moron because odds are he was going to be a dog to almost any hand you would have gone all in with, but morons do hit their hands sometimes and you want to be able to get away when that happens.
