I was playing with some friends, we had about 100 dollars in the pot and it was down to myself and another kid. Now this kid is by no means a good player. He'll call anything and doesnt really understand the game. Typically he's dead money but he was getting his cards tonight and kept winning.
He was the chip leader going into the head to head. I had stolen a few blinds from him because he suddenly began playing tight.
after losing a few bad hands, I was down to about 20 dollars to his 80. Naturally he didnt raise on his small blind so with only a k-3 I checked in.
The flop came up 3 -j -3.
Naturally I went all in.
after a few minutes of him thinking, he decides to call. Instantly I flip my cards over. After a second he shamefully flips his over.
his 6-9, of hearts. one card on the flop was heart.....
the turn, a heart.
you can see where this is going.
the river came up a heart as well. I was crushed.
I know I played this perfectly. Just a really bad beat.
I hope this never happens again, though i'm sure it will.

Yeah that's pretty bad. To lose with runner runner catches is bad enough but when someone makes a flush like that with only one of the cards in his hands it's almost unbearable. That reminds me of a SnG I took second in a couple of weeks ago. It was down to heads up and we were about even in chips. I get dealt K K and I made a decent size raise. He calls me and the flop comes x K x. Not sure of the other cards but they were rags and they were hearts. I didn't want him drawing out on me so I put him all-in. He calls and shows K 2 offsuit with the K being a heart. Needless to say two more hearts came and my pocket K's got cracked by K high flush.

That's the worst. Especially when you have them beaten when they call your all-in. I was playing in a live tourney and it was down to the final 3 tables. I was short stacked so when I got my pocket kings I went all-in. I had one caller. I flip my kings feeling pretty confident and he flips over 8 10 diamonds and says "I'm on a draw." Needless to say he catches the flush on the river to beat me. I went out 18th out of 75. Not too shabby, but going out that way hurt.

That's the worst call ever!! What was he thinking?? He thought you were bluffing so he called?? WTF?! That doesn't make any sense... That, or he was actually hoping for two hearts... that's even worse...
Don't feel bad, you'll get him next time!!

he was hoping for anything. He's the one player in my group of friends that can't be predicted.
He'll call nearly any pre-flop bet, just to see the flop.
He'll call any bet if he's on a draw.
he'll bet with nearly any pair.
He doesnt raise, EVER. In fact the only time I ever remember him re-raising was when he had trip aces.
And by all means, he should be the first one out of any of our games, but he gets great cards more often than any of us ever do. We typically just have to outplay him.
