I was recently on vacation in the Tampa/St. Pete area, and decided to go to the Derby Lanes racetrack to play in a $45 tournament.
After about half an hour into play, I have a nice chip count. Not the lead but close to it I think. Anyway, I am on the BB with K10 off. Half the table limps in and the flop comes 10 A 10. I go ahead and bet it in first position. Most people fold, but one lady on the button raises me. I call. The turn comes crap, the river comes crap. We turn over and she shows me A10, so I take a huge hit on my chips.
I know this may have happened to you guys before, but thats not the bad part of the story.
After I give my cards back to the dealer, I hear my License plate number called over the loud speaker. So I go downstares to the parking lot and sure enough my car had been broken into the very same moment I was drawing dead. In the middle of the day no less, in an outside parking lot. So waiting for the police to show up, I had to forfiet my seat and no longer continue.
They took my TV, CD player, $1000 worth of DVDs, my check book, and other valuable stuff.
I think by far this is the worst bad beat I have ever takin
Word of information, if you do decide to play at Derby Lanes in St. Pete, take a cab. Security told me that they have break ins and thefts about once a week. NEWS FLASH, where the hell is all the security then? I would never go back to that again. Its trashy and all the people their are brainless.

So far my check book is the only thing that has been recovered. Have not heard from the Detective yet, he just left me a message on my machine. I heard that the guys who jacked me were a bunch of crack heads who just don't care. They were in a vehicle that they had stolen earlier that morning from Tampa, so the plate number the security had on em was no good.

I live about 2 hrs. north of Tampa/St. Pete in Gainesville and I've been down to the cities countless times. Downtown St. Pete by the Trop is pretty loomy and shaddy. I'm not sure where this place is, I haven't heard of it before, but in general the town isn't exactly the safest of places to vacation. But it is a fun place with a few nice beaches...

Well my family and I were on our vacation, so I had my 5.5 inch in-dash TV w/ Cd player in the car so we could enjoy the 1000+ mile drive. My auto insurance won't cover the stuff, buy my homeowners will. Its just that the deductable is alot higher. Really put us in a bind. And that faggot detective who is handling my case will not return my call. So far just my checkbook has been recovered. Although thats what he says.

Yikes, that sucks. I was just there the other night. And I parked way off to the side. Glad I didn't lose anything.
Derby Lanes is over on Gandy, just across the Bay from Tampa.
I'll tell you though, the tables are soft as butter. Of course they cost me money this last time! But that won't keep me from going back, if you can take the swings and know how to play low limit, there is tons of money to be made. Check out my blog in my sig for a trip report.
