Need info on poker rooms in this corner of Nevada. Anyone here play around there? Recommendations and scouting reports are welcome and appreciated. Some of the Seattle players gave me a heads up on the poker rooms up there and--with a little help from you guys--I paid for my trip!
Thanks
Did you know that participating in a poker forum can help you improve your own game? Be it by sharing experiences or simply asking for help, participation in a forum helps you focus and keep 'on topic' which will help you improve your game. You can learn from other players feedback and from their experiences. Why the THP poker forums? We offer one of the best managed texas holdem poker forums available, and the community within is far more friendly than those typicaly found on other sites. We've made a 'lurkers edition' of the poker forum available here on Holdem Poker Online, but we encourage all visitors to register and join in on the conversations on TexasHoldem-Poker.com

I played at The Horizon casino in South Lake Tahoe. It is a small room (I think 3 or 4 tables). That is the only place in S. Lake that I saw a poker room although I was drinking all weekend so maybe I walked by a few and didn't notice. haha. In Reno I have heard the Cal Neva casino is a good game.

Thanks for the tips. I'll be in Reno for a convention in October, but I probably won't rent a car--that mean no Tahoe unless I'm desperate. But It's good to know that there are games in Reno. Can you give me some info on the El Dorado? What games/stakes do the offer and which do you play? Why do you play there? What's the skill level like? How long can I expect to wait for a seat? Is it possible to call in ahead and get on the list? Any other poker rooms in Reno?

Lots of locations, more details if you look at the individual casinos sites. We looked at going there last winter. I found lots of games for a variety of stakes and some decent tourneys.
